11750, More suspension problems... ugh Posted by Kahn, Aug-26-02 01:25 AM
Hey guys - is there a rear ball joint or something that would make an interesting noise when i go over bumps if it were bad. Reason being -- everytime i go over a bump small or large I hear this noise - not metallic but odd noise like a lid being put on something. And it only happens when I go over bumps. As some people have read I fucked up my front suspension hitting a hole in the road - well of course the rear suspension followed it through. I haven't had any real problems before with this setup - but I guess there is a first for everything.
My main concern: I do not want the wheel to fall of at highway speeds -- what should I look for / try to tighten - thanks guys.

I had this same problem. Double check everything, retighten all the rear suspension parts. If this does not solve the problem, have your rear wheels bearings inspected. Since the sound is not metal on metal, that kind of rules out bushings....good luck, suspension problems can be a bitch.
Edit: My rear wheels bearings were shot by the way.
