So hmm, was going to put a blitz kit on my 97 rs but i find that the kit my frnd got me was REALLY poor quality. Wasn't very smart to not go check it out myself, but no big deal anyway, only spent $300 for front, and sides. So what I'm stuck with is a new situation. I can now use the $1,500 extra to get a new paint job(get rid of all my dings and scratches) and get rid of my stock 14 inch alloys/tires and get some sweet 16's or 17's w/ tires.

So, the question i pose is : Can anyone point me to a really good website to do some online shopping to get an idea of prices?
And, can anyone recommend anything for best bang for my buck?

Looking for some 16's or 17's for rims, good performance tires.
I plan to use the new ones for summer and the my old ones for winter.
But it would be nice to get a good idea of some good all-season tires.
Plan to spend about 1,000 max.

Sorry to ask so much, but I'd really like to hear opinions :)

Well for starters go pick up a copy of Sport Compact Car. There are so many wheel and tire vendors in there so you can get an idea what you are looking for. Discount Tire has some pretty good deals, especially if you haggle with the salesman a little bit. You could easily spend less than a grand on a good set of wheels/tires.

whalentire.com They have lots of 17 inch packages for about a $1000. I got my 18's from there and they were excellent to deal with.

I have a set of 16" OZ's (the one's in the picture) for sale. Come with the tires but you are probably going to want to replace them in about 7-10 thousand miles. I'd check out tirerack.com for tires. Let me know if you are interested. Yours for 500.

yeah Whalentire.com is a good place to find some rims...even rims that aren't being sold at a lot of places anymore...

I am selling my ALT 180 16s with 225-50 (wide and tight as hell!!!) Drop me a line. 5000 miles on the rubber, never seen winter, rims are nice 5 stars, look like monsoons. New center caps as well.

Wheelmax.com has some of the best deals I have seen. There are alot of 17inch packages on sale for $699 plus shipping right now.

My vote is Rota all the way. they're cheap and really light. Get the 16" slipstreams(spoon replicas) in flat black. They weigh 13 lbs each!!!! Being flat black they're easy to keep clean. Being 16" tires are alot cheaper. Hell, I plan on buying them in a couple months. Revolutions Motorsports sells them. You can get them as a package w/ tires shipped to your door for under $800.

Ebay.com...go on there and go to the ebay motors section, type 17 wheel or 16 wheel and you'll get a ton of stuff. Enkeis for $399 (set) and things of that nature. Check it out.

unless you are painting the car yourself, you won't get a good paint job for the $$ you have. $1500 is not much when it comes to paint jobs. Wheels/tires are all over the place now, just look around for them. Lots of places have very good package deals goin on now too. AS far as tires, Toyo tires make sweet tires but are pricey. I have Kuhmo Supra 712's on my 16" and they perform well for the price i paid ($62/per) for them. You will know the rims when you see them, just keep looking till you find them.

If you're gonna put on the latest kit, you have to have the latest rims! Check out wheels from TENZO R or 5 ZIGEN. Don't buy styles from 5 years ago. It matters
