I was wondering, I know alot of people get aftermarket shocks, but are they really as helpful as people say?

I can get Gas Ryder shocks for $75 with lifetime warranty..
It doesn't have any adjustability (as in all the rates/times and settings for like autox or drag racing and etc)..

BTW, I have HP Racing Coil-overs, so I won't have to worry about height adjustment.

Although Ive never used gas ryder... (Sears), the stock KYB's suck when used with lowering springs... I had mild 1" drop H&R's and the ride sucked ass...It was getting dangerous because of the bouncyness....It's not neccessarily that the stock KYB's are of bad design, its just that they are designed for springs with lower spring rates.....If those gas ryders can handle the higher spring rates of aftermarket springs then I would say go ahead and use them, but if not, Id go out and get something better.

Yes aftermarket shocks are THAT helpful.

Except for better tires, they are the best suspension modification you can get. Better than springs since you can put aftermarket shocks on stock springs and be fine, while stiffer/lowr springs NEED stiffer shocks, AND stiffer sway bars, AND when you lower a car you NEED to redo the alignment. (I can explain why, but it would be a long post ;) ) When you upgrade shocks you just swap in the new shocks and you're all set (as long as you don't mess anything up).
