Can I put 215's on my stock GS wheels? I didn't think you could get 225's on a 7" wide wheel but I had them on my old Rated-R's....so why not 215's on a 6" wide wheel? yes...no?

If I remember, you can put a 215/50hr16 on there, Ill have to check my tire book when I get to work. But y would you want that size on there n e way?

yes you can put a 215 on a 6 inch wide wheel, but I wouldn't put anything wider than that on there

I think (I'm not sure about this) some AWD DSMs, before they came standard with the 17 inch rims, had 215 tires on 16 by 6 inch rims, but I am not positive about this. (might have been the 95-96 models) I can check, unless (again) someone can check it out before I get to it :)

yes the awd talon/eclipse in the 95-96yrs did come with 215/55-16 tires.. so you should be fine with the 215 tires on 6in wide rims..

also i found something that seemed strange or something i didnt expect to see.. the gs-t models in 95-96 came with 205/50-16 tires.. and of course for the gs it was 205/55-16..

225 50 16 is the biggest tire you can put on the stock wheels. I have them on my car now! That size also keeps the speedo calibrated.

xeclipseracerx used to have 245/45/16 on his stock oz wheels. nobody believed him but he showed some pics. the stock oz are 6" wide i believe

Thanks for the help guys. I'm not sure I'm gonna go this route but my tires are getting pretty worn and I need some new ones pretty soon. Tirerack had a good deal on some 215/50 Kumhos so I was thinking about doing it....
