This may be a really stoopid question...
I was reading the write up on installing the sway bar onto the RS and it said that the bar would reduce oversteer. Here's the question. If FWD cars tend to understeer, then wouldn't the oversteer problem of not having the rear sway bar help handling? I know the sway bars reduce body roll and I've searched and read the other posted about how much better peeps' cars handled, but...

I think our turning radius sucks actually. A honda, toyota, etc seems to be able to do a 180 on a narrow street. I have to bust a 3 point turn. My car sticks it in the curves tho. Not sure I'd wanna mess with mine. For a car to have a low turning radius like ours do, I wouldn't think the oversteer problem is very bad at all.

Oversteer only happens at the limit of traction. You would hafta make a hell of a U turn to have the oversteer/understeer characteristics of the car change the turning radius. You would also need a lot of power (being FWD) to pull out of that. But it is all moot, as FWD DSMs push from the factory, regardless of RS/GS/GS-T.

In response to the turning radius in relation to the hondas and toyotas, thats only if ur refering to civics and tercels, the 95-99 eclipses have a longer wheel base and that would explain ur 3 points,Im sure accords and camrys would have to do a 3 point also. as far as road driving and cornering I think the eclipse handles very well with a basic stock setup, and even better when u upgrade springs and struts. I drove a rental camaro and hated the ride, my eclipse handles better, if u really want detailed info, I remember seeing skidpad results on a website that had 95-99 eclipse info on but I cant remember where, if u can find it compare those to more expensive rides, I dont think there was a huge difference in those numbers.

Yes, FWD cars tend to understeer. This happens when you're taking a curve and you turn the steering wheel but the car keeps going straight.
A rear sway bar will increase oversteer by tightening up the rear end. An example of what will happen with too much oversteer is that the rear end will come out as you're taking a curve and cause you to spin out of control. This is very dangerous.
Car manufacturers make cars that tend to understeer because oversteering is clearly more dangerous. For racing applications, the idea is to have a balance between understeer and oversteer... with a slight emphasis on oversteering for skilled drivers.
