I heard that installing cross drilled slotted rotors will wear down the pads in the front. Also, eventually, the rotor will look like trash... I bought the rotors and pads, but after hearing that, not sure if I want to go ahead and install those. Does anyone else have cross drilled slotted rotors that could help me out?

yes it will wear down the pads a tad bit faster, but you are also braking faster, the slots tend to chew up pads because is like a cheese grater effect, but if you want the better braking thats what it takes. I bet its not that much of a difference though, and yes after a while the plating will come off the cross drilled and they will rust just like the stockers.

I love my slotted/dimple drilled raceconcepts rotors, after 2000 miles they still look brand new and they stop on a dime.
Dont worry, install them it will be better than stock, and all rotors look like shit after a year or too

As long as they are cadmium plated or something, they will always look good. I have crossed-drilled slotted and I haven't noticed any excessive pad wear - so I really don't buy that "cheese-grater" theory. The slots have rounded edges going into them, so I don't see how they could have a cheese grater effect. put on the rotors - you won't regret it! And it's pretty easy to do

I have been riding on mine all summer and love-em.. I had a hard time getting the stock rotors off though only because I was timid to hit it really hard fron the back..If yours are stuck on check to make sure your studs are level and just wack the bitch with a rubber mallet as hard as you can!

Prodmd, thats why you had a hard time you were going about it wrong, there are 2 threaded holes on the rotors that you insert a bolt into and tighten till the rotor just pops off, no hammer required, its the easiest way, you could be hammering for days to remove them, the bolt is the easiest, my grandma could get rotors off like that..

I installed them today. They look pretty nice. Ive been around about 10 miles today, so I havnt done much driving to really tell the difference. I can tell that they are new, but thats about it. Is it normal to squeal a little? They squeaked a little while stopping at a light. My preveious brakes squeeked like a bus, that's why I got these new ones. And yes I know that driving the car will make the rotors nice and shiney again. The rear look like trash though, thinking about investing in some cross drilled slotted rotors for the back too. What does anyone think about that idea, or does anyone else have that done and how is it.

I know about the 8mm screw holes...In my case the rotor was free from the hub but because of the studs being slightly bent the rotor would not come all the way off only like half way..my fault for not posting that part. Hey make sure you break in your pads correctly..no hard stops for a few days...and from what I hear go 30mph come to a slow stop..and repeat 10X and yes they will squeek for a while and mine would get really hot..I could smell it burning and lots of break dust!

I've had them on for a few days now, I know they will squeak a little bit, but are they supposed to sqeak bad?! It's just as bad as before I put them on. There was little pad left. I had a friend listen to see if maybe it was the rear ones, but some to find out, only the drivers side front one squeaks. Does anyone know what I could do? The only possibility I can think of is that tab that lets you know to replace the pads, is bent enough to rub the rotor. Anyone got suggestions?

Honestly, I prefer the big brake upgrade... :) who doesnt...but th e drilled slotted rotors dont help out that much...atleast mine didnt...metal master brake pads help out some tho...try that...

Don't worry about wearing down the pads too quickly. Even with slotted/cross drilled it won't be a big deal, you might have to replace the pads a few months sooner than normal, the superior braking is more than worth the trade-off in slightly shorter pad life.
