1052, problems with brakes Posted by ace0, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
What's up everybody? My name is Steve & I am a member of ASOG.
I was wondering if any of you have experienced this with your brakes since our brake systems are similar.
About 2 months ago I installed slotted rotors & repco/axxis metalmaster pads on the front wheels, and Goodridge stainless steel braided lines all around.
The problem I am having is during an emergency stop I can feel the brake pedal go all the way down. I have bled the brakes several times (at least two quarts of fluid). There are no leaks at the calipers or master cylinder. The fluid level is always full.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve ASOG Southwest

I'm not an expert on brakes, but I have done a good amount of work with them....including mine. I'm not sure what year your car is, but you might be experiencing blow by either inside the power booster or the master cylinder. I replaced the master cylinder on a Caravan that was experiencing the same thing as you are describing. What was happening was the seals inside the master cylinder were allowing fluid to pass through instead of compressing it, hence, the pedal going to the floor. Like I said, I'm not sure but it's a suggestion?
