After like weeks of waiting for them to arrive I have them. Woohoo I got my money's worth too the guy I bought them off of gave me the whole caliper assembly, I already bought some brackets off of him earlier and sanded and painted them already so now I got some extra brackets lying around. he even gave me used pads, brake lines, and shims. But I bought some OEM mitsu pads off of ebay for 20 bux a while ago. Guess it's time to start selling some stuff. Best 60 bux I ever spent. I'm waiting for my new rotors, lines, and brake fluid to come in the mail also, should be here monday :)

Anyway these monster are huge and they weigh hella lot compared to the stock calipers. Kinda wish they didn't weigh so much though cuz the wilwood calipers weigh like nothing haha. Bwahahhaa stopping power here I come. These will be mated with Rspeed slotted/drilled rotors, RRE SS brakelines, and some motul 600 brake fluid. No more mushy brakes, no more flushing brake systems, no more boiling brake fluid, no 14s or 15s :(, and hopefully no more brake fading bwahahah. My stock brakes are awesome already I love em but with these woohoo I'm gonna have a blast abusing them. Hehe hopefully these brakes will be able to take a beatting from a 120 MPH stomping because my stock ones didn't... Woohoo left foot braking to the max now! For now I guess I'll stick with these OEM pads all around, I know the slotted rotors will destroy these pads quickly hehe I hope... Then it time to get some semi racing pads woohoo. They're dirty as hella for now but wait until I polish and paint them :)

Total I'm estimating on my brake overhaul is:
brakes 60
pads 20
front rotors 70
rear rotors 80 (yeah Rspeed don't sell the rear ones)
SS lines 80 (yes my 7 year old brake lines are mushy as hell now)
Motul 600 brake fluid- 18

not bad for 350 bux compared to those monster brake systems they got out there this should do fine for me.

These pictures don't do them justice, when i do the install I'll line em up with the stock brakes hehe... In a couple weeks I"ll have some metal master pads for sale!

Looks good man. I just bought a set myself. You're right. I was surprised at how really big those mutha's are. Mine look just like yours. Are you going to get them cleaned up at all? I have been considering getting them sandblasted before I paint them (black).

I haven't bought any lines, rotors or pads yet for them though.

Yeah guys, you should sandblast them and then paint them. I borrowed my friend's small sand blaster and my rear callipers came clean as hell....and they looked worse than the ones pictured aove. Then I gave them a few coats of low gloss engine enamel(black), they look brand new.

Nice.

A wire brush and sume engine degreaser worked ghreat to porep mine rears for paint. They took the high temp black paint very well.

looks cool dude, i just put my setup in a couple days ago.. gsx front calipers, powerslot rotors, r4-s pads, rre lines.. so far so good just gotta break them in a bit... make sure the seals/boots are still good...mine was of a 99gsx with 47k miles but when i got it, they looked as if they where under the dame ocean, so i rebuilt mine for like $40 bucks ...

Heh yup that's what I did I had a roto-wirebrush attachment for my compressor and I just took off all that icky stuff then painted it with some VHT caliper paint. You should see the brackets I cleaned up already they look 10x better than when I recieved them.

Man I was looking at them today and noticed they don't have banjo fittings! I emailed RRE about it and hopefully they'll send me the right brake lines, cuz I remember when i did Kory's SS lines on his RS it had banjo fitting for the front brakes and these ones are screw on like the rear calipers. Is it possible to use a banjo fitting even though it's like that though?

heh well I'm kinda looking at them now and it look like they won't clear but I'm pretty sure they will. Randy has 16s and his barely cleared. Also I might add that 1G GSXs with 16s have these brakes, basemodel 3000GTs, and 95-96 GSXs all got 16s. They look pretty badass on the car seeing those brakes fill the whole wheel hehe. But only I would notice something like that most people will think it's just some stock stuff. :)

Damn you did a great job cleaning the brackets. You can get the goodrich ss lines at frey racing for $15 each. alot cheaper than RRE.

If you are wanting to do a primo job, I recommend grinding off the casting flash and rough edges from the calipers before painting them. I used a Dremel with the usual assortment of bits and was able to remove all the roughness and get some nice smooth curves out of it. It would be even more noticeable if you were going with a light colour like silver, red or yellow, but you can still tell with black.
