A 2G GSX weighs in around 3100 lbs. My 1st gen weighs 3050 without me in it. Don't make it sound like they are heavier than they really are. A 2G GS weighs about 2800-2850lbs. The only significant difference in the weight is the transfer case, driveshaft, and rear diff/axles. That stuff does not weigh 800 lbs. My roommate's 97 TSi AWD weighs 3100 lbs. and it is automatic.
