13782, Brake Problems... Posted by MCubed45, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Hey guys.. Well the brakes on my front passenger side is kinda jacked up right now. Just the other nite it started making a really loud grinding sound when i slow down. It's the loudest when i'm almost at a complete stop. I'm prety sure my pads are gone.. I've got the crappy 14" stock rims but i can kinda see inside an there's definately a nice scratch all the way around the rotor.. i'm takin the car in on monday but just wanted some suggestions on what to do and what prolly needs replacing. i dunno if the caliper's messed up or anything but i'm obviously gonna need a new rotor. now i am planning on upgrading my brakes (apparantly i'll be doin it sooner than i thought). i was planning on possibly doing the big brake upgrade. however, i gotta order my 17's first... i got the money an could prolly order my rims an brake stuff within the next month or so. i guess i wanna know what i can do for a temporary fix and how long it'll last. i don't want to buy a new rotor when i'll be upgrading shortly. can i just have them put on some new pads for now? i don't think it'd be a good idea to just leave it until i upgrade. it doesn't sound very good... any input would be grealy appreciated. TIA!
oh yea also any suggestions on which upgrade to go with would be very helpul as well! i was kinda lookin at the AEM one.. i don't really need extremely high performance brakes but just somethin that'll fill up some 17's an give me a little bit performance. thanks!
