With new Shootout dates comes a newfound excitement for the coming year. The one event which means so much to so many has come back for another chance. I really think this Shootout is our last chance to show both Buschur Racing and the people of Norwalk that we appreciate what they do for us.

That said, let's all agree to be on our best behavior this year so that there might be a Shootout every year. Those of us who make this a yearly pilgrimage of sorts have a responsibility to set the tone for how the new people should behave. Let's show our appreciation by not trashing their town and sullying Buschur's name in the process. Let's do our part to keep everyone in line. We are all brothers at the DSM Shootout and, as such, we are responsible for each other.

Behave or lose it forever.

I'm going to try and go this year. I'm just glad it's going to happen. For some reason though, I don't think this group is the ones that needs to hear this message...

We should also probably try to pick up after ourselves a little better. I do recall Sunday night going around and picking up a lot of empty cans, bottles, miscellaneous trash as well as cigarette butts scattered everywhere. I'm not saying we trashed the place, but we definately could have been a little cleaner.

I think maybe if we could setup some designated trash area, whether it be garage bags or whatever, that would really help out.

I look forward to 2006's Shootout seeing new and familiar faces.

I think I'm planning on going this next time. I haven't been to any Shootouts before, but I remember Modified Mag doing a section on it a couple years back and it looked awesome. If all goes well me, dsmmyth (Brian), and my friend Josh should be roadtrippin there from the big TX.

Is there going to be various threads started about when and what to plan for the event? I'm guessing so, just new to it all.

Damn. Just tried to make reservations at the bw. they're not available online and when I called, the girl said $149 a night at this time. She also said not to make reservations this far ahead because the rates will more than likely change.

that is better than i got, she told me she COULDNT make them this far ahead and didnt even quote me a price. she was able to tell me the dates i wanted though without me saying anything. maybe she was psychic.

nothing was up with the ice, they ran out. :D our side was fairly calm as usual but some of it did trickle over last year. who knows where i will be staying. i may end up staying near my local guys or something different this year. would still come to visit for a bit though if that is the case.

new plan this year though, if my woman goes, she wont want me to be handing out drinks all night so i will probly down 3 shots in 10 seconds on an empty stomach at the very beginning of the night and be done.

I am glad that people start to notice me(for good and for bad reasons). I would defiantly like to meet people from the website. And I will start making plans (so many people say that) I will really try.


Is there going to be a hotel dedicated to 2GNT? How do I make sure I get to meet everyone and hang out with right people?

There should be about 8 VA DSMs that I will be rolling with so far. We started a thread on our sovadsm.com site and started making plans and one of the members gets rooms at discount prices ($35 a night) since he works for a certain branch.

But join the forum and we can setup a caravan from VA on! All VA and MD DSMs join and we can setup a caravan.

I can't wait for this years SO.

Not sure at this point if Corbin and Kirby will be going again this year, but all three of us are fairly local to each other in No.Va.
As I offered last year, you are more than welcome to stay at my place, and knock off 2-3 hours off the drive.

Either way, barring me bending all my valves again, or some other catastrophe, I plan on going, and would love to caravan with everyone.

Oh man I can't wait for this! Just reading all these posts from the previous shootout makes me wanna be there right now once again. I will definitly be there this year again. I wouldn't miss it for the world. :thumbsup
