581, Ok, here it is...how long does it take???
Posted by corsagsbo, Apr-29-05 08:43 AM
I am asking this in reference to those of you who have taken delivery of the MS. I have had a couple on order for nearly 3 months and still await delivery. This post is not to start a flame war, so please keep it on topic! If it starts to go elsewhere I will ask that this be removed immediately. I am clearly looking for an average on how long you may have had to sit in suspense. Lee has done alot to expand the performance envelope for us, I fully appreciate his and the ones contributing to the efforts, yet some still can not take advantage of this set-up.

You should just ask Lee. He's on AIM all the time and you can e-mail him. I do know that he's been waiting on parts for a long time and that he's real busy trying to furthur develope the "-extra" code.

Thanks Doug. I have been speaking with him direct and know the situation/situations. For specific reasons I choose not to elaborate on, have now decided it is best to ask those who have one.

I am in the same boat as you, paid for the MS late january and have yet to recieve it. I emailed him about a month ago. No response. I emailed him on sunday. No response. I emailed him on tuesday. No response. A bit discouraging. Although I have not seen him post on here recently either so mabey he is busy building them??? Any response would be nice.

He is in the process of moving. He was also waiting on cases, last i heard. Give it time. Lee has a wife and newborn daughter, and is also hunting for a job. Cut the limey brit some slack.

I've been waiting just as long as any of you and you don't see me crying.

I don't think responding to my email is an unreasonable request. I am really in no hurry, my engine kit won't be here for god knows how long (comming from howell automotive), but it would be nice to get some sort of a response to my emails. Just something saying "Hey I am still waiting on parts, your stuff will be done when I get them finished eta unknown".

I hear ya Dino. I know the situation and can relate to how it is. Hell, I've been there before. Newborn, moving, and in between jobs at one time also. In my position I see it different because if I wasn't able to deliver products within a 3 month period of time, it would be my ass with Chrysler or GM. I am "conditioned" you could say to know what to expect, yet make all attempts to be an understanding and leniant person.

Thank you for confirming on the timeframe, this is all I'm looking for. I am in no way looking to flame the guy.

I've been waiting four months. Lee has told me numerous times that he would be shipping it to me ASAP. Ordinarily, I'd be pissed, but the man has been out of work for some time, is moving, and has a newborn. Considering he's pretty much the only reason this technology exists for us, freeing us from exorbitantly priced, not-specifically-inteded-for-2GNT, AEM products and the now practically useless SAFC, he can have all the time he needs. However, if it's not here in two weeks, I'm gonna yank out my MSnS harness and whip him with it. ;) Haha.

I hear ya on the communications thing, but sometimes you have to have faith.

I talked with Lee this week. As dino said he has been tied up moving and he is currently waiting for cases. there are 8 units ready to roll as soon as he can get the cases and mail them. ETA will be in April, they should be in our hands by mid april.

To make your wait easier....just think everyday that lee toys with his MS may be another day he comes up with another idea. that idea may end up in your MS that others may not have yet....!

Ok now heres the raw truth. unless you have your harness in the car nad ready to plugf the MS in, you have no room to be mad because you yourself are behind as well. :)

All good things take time

This is one of the reasons I decided to buy Matt's 034 EIC setup. I knew Lee was falling behind on orders and I didn't want to be stuck without a good fuel managment system for boogers rebirth. I'm sure he'll get them out, it'll just take time :thumbsup

Indeed they do, but I'm also hoping I'm one of the eight lucky stiffs who get theirs here in the next week or so. I happen to have the harness ran and will be picking up my own DB37 connector before hand, so I'll have to do is plug it in and play with it.

Just got a text message from Lee a minute ago. He asked me to call him this evening. I will keep everyone updated. He says he's just having some trouble with life in general. He is not going to let us down.

More info as I get it. I just wanted to update that I heard from him, so that others would know he's not bailing on us.

That is all for now.

EDIT:
Another message...

Lee just got his phone turned on this week and has no cell service at home. He tried calling me, but does not have long distance on the phone. Probably why it rang and no one was there at my end.

He can't get online either yet. Access issues.

"Everyone will be taken care of. I'm real down right now..." - Lee*

I think it goes without saying we might remain cool for a little while longer and see how this plays out. My faith in Lee has been restored for the time being.

Again, I will update after I speak with him this evening. More to come.

Well, it's hard to reach out and deck someone over the internet, Josh. }( Please, disregard my snappy little joke and stay on topic. There are a lot of people waiting for an MS and they need this thread to stay legit.

Thank you.

I talk to Lee quite often and from the time Ive met him up until now I have learned Lee is not one screw someone, and I realize all of you know this. I can tell you inbetween busting his balls at a local shop making what funds he can, moving, and still getting some family time, he is working them English fingers to the bone on the MS's. I have no room to complain because I have mine, but like somebody said. yours is prolly gonna have something mine doesnt.

So yeah, just give the brotha some time, he will come through.

My 2 cents

I tried calling Lee tonight, but condsidering how AZ is on Pacific time right now, by the time I got home and parked, it was after 10pm Lee's time. I asked his wife to have him text me when he can talk so we can catch up on things and I can update everyone here.

That is all.

Well, I didn't realize the wait would be this long or I would have built it myself, just figured he'd have it all setup and ready to go for me so I didn't have to mess with it to make it specific to my car (he preloads and prechecks everything). I'm fully capable for building my own, but just didn't want to waste the time or have to worry about troubleshooting if something wasn't to work.

Same here. When I ordered if from Lee he said it would take him about 2 weeks to get it to me. It's been almost 5 months now.

I guess I will have to build my own, which I had plained on doing anyway for a spare. But I was going to wait until I got more familiar with the MS.

Still no return contact and the paypal money has not been reimbursed. There are at least 8 people I know of waiting on these kits from Lee and have not heard anything back within the past 3 weeks. If someone was to live on the street or under a rock for crying out loud, a library is accessible and allows internet usage. No follow up at all is what is suspect and the main dillema.

Lee, please contact me immediately, you have my office and email address info.

Spoke with Lee last night on the phone.

He is sick as a dog and has been sitting on the shitter with explosive diareha for the last three days, inserting his through-hole components into PCBs for solder when he is in an evironment suitable for soldering. On top of this, after running 24psi and a 75 shot through an SSAutochrome turbo for over a year, he finally incited the compressor housing to explode, sending shrapnel through the firewall and into his legs, leaving him nearly crippled.

Well, that's not all entirely true, but he has been sick and his SSAC turbo did explode, but he's just been very busy lately. His cell phone is old, worn out, and gets no signal at his home, where he has no long distance set up on his land line. Speaking of land lines, he is only sporting a 28k dial-up right now. He has also been working at a friend's shop lately to make ends meet, so he has had a lot of little stuff back up on him.

Now, I'm not posting this information to show that Lee and I are incahoots or to justify his lack of communication with each of his customers, however I thought I would share that he said to let everyone know that he apologizes for the delays and that he will come through on every order that was made.

He told me he will be shipping Terry, Joe and my units this week and that all the rest are pretty much complete in terms of parts, but that he has a couple odds and ends to install or modify for different customers. Terry, Joe and I have been waiting the longest at this point, but Lee will get to everyone as fast as he can without affecting the quality of the product.

So often, people invest a large sum of money into a part or idea on a site like this and the person on the other end simply blows it on liquor and cheap whores and is never seen again. This is not going to be the case this time. We are dealing with someone who is legit and doing what he can to deliver on his promises. I am not worried about losing my money. I will get my MSnS. I'm pretty sure you will too. We're all just going to have to wait for them.

That is all.

Myself I'm probably one of the last people to buy a kit from Lee. I bought mine around the end of February. I don't care how long it takes Lee to get all the kits out, I have a temporary fuel setup here to use until the MSnS gets here. Just as long as he gets the kits out is what I care about. All I'm afraid of is losing my money and not getting anything. As long as it gets here, I'll be happy.

hmm
So HE DOES have internet access. I mean this is pretty much a text driven website so that is an irrelevant fact. The fact that his turbo exploded or that he is working at a shop is 100% irrelevant to our situation and shouldnt even be in this conversation.

I have long distance and dont mind using it. He has MY megasquirt that I shipped to him to repair. He has nothing to build on mine, No parts to order, No cases to manufacture. I sent it to him mid february and dont want it to *poof* dissapear or get shipped to anyone else. PM me his number so I can speak with him in person. I have refrained from posting in this thread till now, but I have grown weary and we've seen this too many times to count.
While you driggs may vouch for him, I do not take that as fact or reassurance, especially with your actions of late regarding other members on this board. All I want is MY megasquirt back. Number?
thanks.

Heres a thought: Why doesnt everyone who ordered up a MEGASQUIRT from MrSlick post up their order date so we can figure out who the priorities should be. Out of the 8 or so people who have ordered I think it should be prioritized by who ordered 1st. Not on hearsay.

You didn't even wait two months and you filed a claim? Weaksauce.

In retrospect, I could more than likely build this myself, being an electronics automation technician, but I don't really want to risk it with my engine. I'm probably very rusty... }(

2/19/05 payment sent. Verified time frame of 2-4 weeks by Lee himself. I don't care about hearing a bunch of excuses..When you have people's money for extended periods of time, its HIS responsibility to keep people updated, and and if the quoted time frame for completion is not met, then let the buyer know this. I had Lee on AIM about 3 weeks ago, and he said i would have it the next week, or the one after that. I also asked If he could refund my money, just so i could get this project going faster so I could get the car running again..He says, and I qoute- "well it would be a lot easier to send you a MS instead. All my money is tied up in parts right now". Um yeah, ok..So i want to return a product at a store, and the clerk says, "well sorry sir, we cant refund your money because the money is tied up in stock". Sorry, that's just bad business.

As for the internet thing, I can think of about 3 or 4 places right off the top of my head that have broadband internet connections. It's just flat out bad buisness procedure, and ethic to leave people in the dark. He has 340.00 bucks of my money, and so far thats only bought a bunch of excuses :rolleyes Anyway, thanks for the update Brian...I *should* be saying, "thanks for the update LEE". Maybe i'm being a bit to harsh here, but i've been working in the small business field for 10+ years now, and keeping customers informed, taken care of, and being HONEST with them, when things go wrong, is of utmost importance..

Brian, I would have taken some sort of action a long time ago(leagal/paypal, ect), but that's just me. It's been almost 6 MONTHS FOR YOU MAN!! That is just unacceptable in my book. The old "waiting on parts" line is BS..I can get full kits in only days..If the place you get your parts from, is out of stock for a while, then go somewhere else to get them, or INFORM your customer that there will be a delay.

At this point, all we can do is have faith in LEE that he comes though. If not, then off to the leagal bullshit i go.. :rolleyes

I ordered mine in late January as stated above. The reason that I ordered from Lee instead of building my own was that he offered lots of support when you buy from him. I'm going to be quite upset if white97rs gets his MS before I get mine. I did order quite some time before he did. I also just sent him an email making sure he has my correct shipping address.

$300 unaccounted for dollars from me.

i have been reluctantly staying out of this because i have not bought anything from this guy, but i cannot bite my tounge any more.

/Rant on/

The only thing i HATE about this sight is how so many people are so idioticly complacent to sit back and make stupid ass fucking excuses for cock-hats who try to sell stuff en-mass and then bend thier "customers" over by not building it/sending it/communicating about it.
THERE IS NO FUCKING EXCUSE FOR THIS TYPE OF BUSINESSMANSHIP!

if i could reach thru this fucking computer i would strangle the life out of every single last motherfucker who says "he's been busy", "he was hurt in a car accident", "his turbo blew up", "he lost his job, his cat died and his girlfriend became a dyke", "don't worry, hes a nice guy, he'll come thru"
BULLSHIT!!!! period.
nobody who has a set of man-nuts should even think about making excuses for and condoneing the taking of other peoples money for products that do not get produced in a reasonable time frame.
And im sorry to bust some of your bubbles but a reasonable time frame for mailing out a product after you have accepted the money is NO MORE THAN ONE WEEK.
i realize these units were mostly "built to order", but even at that, to accept the money for a product you know you can't get done in a reasonable time is illicet and wrong! And to not even communicate with your customers at all other than the chicken shit way of gong thru someone else to make a general excuse for you is just lame and worthy of a collosal beat-down!

Tim, do you have any open transactions with Lee? No, you said so yourself. Although I believe you are right, you don't have any business posting in this thread, so please continue to bite your tongue. From now on, if anyone posts in here who isn't waiting on something from Lee, I will delete your post. Not only will further "rants" cause this already lengthy thread take longer to load on my shitty dialup connection, "rants" are counter-productive to the current situation, a waste of space, and destructive to the overall positive environment on this board.

Still have not heard back from him. This is starting to feel like pushing420A all over again. If he only has like 8 units and I'm behind the first 8 he makes, well then that puts me WAY back on the list of people who will get one of those first 8 he has. Fuck I hate just throwing $300 away like this. If you have it done how fucking hard is it to put it in the mail? *rant*

I still can't get over how he was "Last Seen On March 10, 2005" yet he has emailed someone who purchased to tell them to remove their complaint, and he has posted on the megasquirt forum sometime late in march also but he chooses not to come back here where he owes people. This is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo shady it is unbeleivable...
729, RE: Ok, here it is...how long does it take???
Posted by RxR_Eclipse, May-03-05 07:22 AM
Agreed. It is quite obvious that he used the money that we have sent him to do something other than build the MS's for us all. Mabey he used the money to 'move', as was indicated earlier. Or mabey he just does not feel like putting them together, or mabey he just ripped us off. Either way this should likely go in the 'bad guys' section at this point. I hate to be a squeeky wheel (since he has my money and I have nothing, and it looks like I will never get a MS from him), but $300 is alot of money. And if you feel like flaming me for being the squeeky wheel go ahead, infact while your defending him, would you please send me my $300 back.

Send money order to:
Kevin Johnston
PO Box 881
Sandpoint ID 83864

Edit Im sending this message to him once a day till I get a response.

I still have not heard from you Lee, do you have my MS done yet? If so Please send it to

kevin johston
po box 881
sandpoint id 83864

Or please return my money to the same address in the form of a Money Order.
Thanks

sorry for your shitty luck, if he doesnt reply by the end of the day paypal returns my money to me. Im the one he told to remove the complaint, but that didnt happen cause i had no shipping confirmation. Well My MS is in the mail from RSautosport. I suggest all of you to go his way. Hes very helpful, i got the 420A/neon package and the 3 BAR map for 299 shipped. Just mad it doesnt come with any base maps but i have already talked with people on MSEFI.com and they have been helpful. I Ordered from RSautosport on the 26th of April and it was shipped out today. Like i said i suggest him to all of you in this situation. www.RSautosport.com his name is rodney and he only uses paypal so you can be refunded if there is no delivery.

He ships within a couple of days and always has his shit in stock. I've actually had him overnight stuff to me. Also, his wiring harness kits are the SHIT! Contact me if you need a base map.

I concur. Very substantial. Although, he did take about a month and a half to get me two harness kits with conectors, IAC and CLTs, the harness kit is bad ass. I've got mine installed now and have plenty of slack/extra wire.

Why do you think I've been coming into this thread and sharing everything he's told me thus far? He says he's still working on them and everyone that paid for one will get one. He told me that. I'm telling you he told me that. I understand the concern that HE isn't telling you that, but it's something. I have not spoken with him at any time where I did not confirm that he is still going to fill all his orders. He told me he would build and ship my MS. He has built it. He is shipping it. He will get yours too.

Driggs - Anyone can send a click-n-ship notification. That means squat. When you get your MS then you can talk.

Same thing ^^. The dude collected cash, ran, then people threatened chargeback around day 30-35 of the 45 day PayPal dispute period so the guy sent out USPS click-n-ship notifications. Just because someone prints a USPS label doesn't mean they will be bringing anything to the post office.

This is true, but as I have said, I have faith that Lee will come through. Shit, I waited 6 months for pistons, I can wait that long for a "stand alone." I got a text from Lee last night (wasn't expecting it) saying it shipped yesterday. I'm not really worried about it. Maybe I'll check the tracking number or whatever tonight. In the past, click and ship tracking numbers aren't even active by the time I received the package, so...

I'll be sure to let everyone know when it arrives. :thumbsup

Feb. 24th here. Lee was easy to get in touch with when I was discussing the buying of the product and it's options. Once he mooved I have had no contact. I was going the ultra lazy route and having Lee build my harness too, so he said when I orderd it it would be 2-3 weeks. I had no issues contacting him until the move and the baby and all. I am not making any excuses for the way he has handeled this, as I would like to be kept updated as to what is going on. This is unacceptable as far as the contact issues. I will say that I am not worried that he will get them done, I believe that he will, but I am upset that he told me 2-3 weeks and it has turned out to be almost three months. Had I known how backed up he was at the time of my order I might have gone elsewhere. I am past any charge back options through paypal, but my bank has said they would be able to help me. I am not persuing that right now however, and hope that I will be able to take delivery before I have to take that step.

Just more proof that he's truely scamming everyone that purchased a MegaSquirt from him. He's posting over at msefi.com and answers his PMs over there but doesn't give a shit about 2gnt.com and the people he has stolen from. You know he's got to be viewing these 2gnt threads as a "guest"... yet he doesn't post.

I'm sure he didn't mean for things to turn out this way, but hell, if it happened to me, I'd drive 10 hours just to use a computer to let everyone know what's up. Also, who cares if he can't call long distance, because he could call any of the people he owes money with "1-800-collect" and they'd answer the phone AND pay for the call.

Get real guys, you're probably never getting your MS or your money.

EDIT: Got these from another member. I don't know for sure they are correct, I never got an answer. But my friend said he has talked to him with these numbers...

I posted on the MSEFI site warning people of his shady nature and the mod got ahold of me today. Here is what he sent me.

Subject: Mr.Slick
rxr_eclipse,

Thanks for posting the link, we were totally unaware there was an issue. I am going to do a few things:

<*>I am going to move the thread to the general information thread, where it will be more widely seen.

<*>I will give Lee a few days to respond.

<*>If he doesn't respond appropriately during that time, I will move the thread to the 'Products and Services' forum, so that anyone considering a purchase from Mr.Slick will see it, and I will deactivate him at msefi.com; pending the shipment of all outstanding orders.

Feel free to pass this along.

Lance.

Pretty cool of Lance to support us here. Major props to him.

Heh, he'll probably just stop posting on there as well.

Anyone know what to do to get my money back if I paid through my debit card on paypal over the 45 day return period? I'm thinking about just going with http://www.rs-autosport.com/ since they claim a 2-week ship out, but need to get my $300 back before I can order it.

I have yet to hear anything from Lee or seen anything of my MSnS (I ordered and paid for it on 12/04/04) . I went ahead and bought a kit from DIYAutotune a little over a week ago and built one to at least run fuel. I have no electronic experience but I was able to build it with no problems. It took me a total of about 8 hours to build and test it. I took my time and made sure that I did everything right. There is no reason Lee cannot at least build and ship one Megasquirt a week. Hell, he should be able to build one in half the time it took me.

I'm normally a laid back, easy going guy and will give just about anyone the benefit of the doubt, but this has gone on for to long and I have lost my patience. Now, if i do not hear from Lee or receive my stuff soon, I am going to do everything I can do legally to get my money back or at least make it the most miserable $580 he has ever had.

BTW: Thanks to Lance and RxR Eclipse for helping out.

I am one of the few that purchase a MS system off Lee. I ordered mine early April. I've spoken to him then, saying that he will let me know when he does recieve my money. But eversince then, I have not recieve one email or notice from him. I have been trying to following up on my order but Lee has not yet answered to my emails. I hope Lee didnt went ghost on us. Can we do something to get our money back? Because we just donated so much money to that guy if we're not going to do nothing. Keep me informed. Thanks.

There's tons of people that can help you. Lee is not the only source of info - check the MSEFI.com forums, in the -extra section. Plenty of into and the guy the developed the 420A wheel decoder is constantly fielding questions there.

There's also this forum. The more discussion there is here, the better we'll get. Keep that in mind.
