Hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone else has been playing around with bluetooth and megasquirt. With the new Shadow dash MS coming out recently I wanted to give this a shot. I ended up buying a R232 to bluetooth adapter off ebay for about $13. Had to change the Baud rate for MS2 and then just plug it in and it works perfect with my android phone. Heres a screen shot of the phone



My bluetooth computer module is still on the way, but I will be trying to go completely wireless for tuning MS. Ill let you guys know how well that works out. This is deffinately a cool app for android devises.

I was thinking of doing the same on the laptop to tune wireless. Just have to get the adapter.

Bluetooth adapter came in for the computer. It connects right up MS on bluetooth, now no more serial and USB adapter is needed. Probably has about a 20 ft range before the signal starts dropping off.

I bought the one with the 2 db9 ends and it works great for abt 20m for me before the rate slows

bringing this thread back from the grave, SilvrEclips how did you program this bluetooth adapter. I believe I bought the same adapter on ebay, but did not include any type of information.

I used hyperterminal to change the Baud rate. There are some instructions online on how to do it. This is the write up I followed

I did get this working. These adapters are already set to 9600baud rate which is what MS1 operates at. So all I had to do was solder a jumper from vcc on the header to pin 9. BOOM we're BLUETOOTH SQUIRTIN

Yes you only have to change the Baud rate if you running MS2

I believe it only supports android at the moment. You might be able to get it to display on a radio display but i have not seen anyone that has done it.

I think some manufacturers are finally starting to put out android based head units.

I plan to mount a tablet in the dash, as $160 it is not bad considering.

Unfortunately the kindle fire I already have does not have bluetooth, and shadowdash does not support host based USB serial on android at the moment, so I'd have to get like a nexus 7 or something now that they have bluetooth down at that price point.
