5102, 95-99 Neon ECU's

Ok, I know what you're thinking and I know the ECU isn't plug n' play....per se.

My questions is,

Has anyone successfully re-pinned their ECU plug to be able to run a Neon AFX or Mopar ECU?

I'm in the process of re-pinning my plug for the 2.4 swap, running stock ECU for now, but it had me thinking, why couldn't someone re-pin the whole plug to run a Neon ECU?

What obsticles would you run into?

As far as I know, a Neon ECU should work, as long as the pin out is correct.

Thoughts?

Ive looked into this heavily, but just went MS instead.

It will work, there is no doubt about it. I have heard of a few people who have done this.

You will have to wire your rad fans together IIRC, the Neon doesnt differentiate like ours does.

Injectors get swapped around, coil, AC wire among others.

Ok, so pretty much the whole plug has to be re-pinned.

Having both a neon and eclipse wire diagram next to each other would be great. As far as I know, the wires are colored differently.

I mean, if I could get a neon AFX-r for cheap, i'd spend the time to do it.

But just like you said, I'd much rather go MSnS. I see Mopar and AFX's on the neon boards every day. On here, not so much.

At least this way there would be more options, all be it, a little more work.

For what it's worth, there aren't that many physical differences between the Neon PCM and the Eclipse/Talon/Avenger PCM's. It depends on the year of the donor car and the year of the receiving car, but I calculate the number of different pins is around fifteen.

So to make it easy, pick up a neon ECU the same your as my own. Doesn't sound that hard.

Maybe if I ever get my car running I'd give it a try.
