Ok guys I got megasquirt installed but have not hooked the injectors up yet. I wanted to make sure everything was good before I got into that battle. Anyways my problem is that I power megasquirt up, load the MS extra fireware. Change all my settings for the 420a and save them. Now and this point everything works fine, but when you shut the car off and turn it back on you have to reload the fireware to get MS to read the sensors. It will say connected but nothing will work. I am running MS1 v2.2. Thanks

where did you get the MS from?

What are you using to communicate...USB adapter?

I got it from a guy on here. It was already assembled I just had to solder the MAP sensor on it. I dont believe it did this when I was testing the sensors out in the house. Im going to pull it back out and bench test it in the house to see if it will save the firmware.

Yes I am using and 9pin to usb adapter. Ok just tested MS in the house and I have to reload the fireware again. After that everything worked fine and when I cut it off and back on everything was still working fine. It has to be something in the wiring. Any ideas? I dont was to start pulling wires if I dont have to. Everything is soldiered on so it would be a PITA.

Ok guys I did more testing. Started pulling wires off and checking to see if the fireware was still corrupting after being turned off and back on. There is only the TPS and crank position sensor wire along with power and ground. Thats all that is hooked up and it still corrupts the fireware. I did find out that it only corrupts when the 420a decoder is selected. When thats off then the firmware does not corrupt. So that makes you think its a problem with the fireware maybe, but ever the 420a decoder worked fine in the house test. Im almost out of ideas, please give me some advice guys.

its not the harness. What version of code are you using?

Try loading it via a serial port from your desktop. USB adapter can be a problem sometimes.

I would send it back to the guy you bought it from. Sounds like an issue with the CPU chip.

I am using 029Y4 with megatune 2.25 p3. Now the unit seems to be screwing up even testing it in the house. I guess its time to pull the ECU back apart.

Ok so I think I found out what the problem was. I am only going to be running fuel right now and so I changed the settings on LED17 & 19 off of spark a and b and apparently that was messing with the ECU enough to keep it from working. It works fine now in the house so tmrw morning its getting wired up again so hopefully it will work.

there is either a problem with that chip or the MS itself. that code works fine
