i recently ran into some realy bad fuel cut problems.Wwhen i switched back to stock injectors, if i was to run ms for fuel only would i need to still use a missing link? Also the car has been idling funny would that solve that also.I am running a full msd ignition

Thanx

If you ran MSnS-E you could eliminate the stock ECU's control over the injectors (and thus fuel cut; no ML/FCD needed), plus eliminate the MSD box as MS can control spark too. Depending on how you configure your settings and hardware, you can achieve a very stable idle.

If you read a little more in thiw section you will see that Using MS to control the MSD box is a better way to control spark. When Using MSNS to control the coil, the spark tends to be too weak and gets blown out when your over 16psi boost.

what you do is take the trigger wires from MS and run them direct to the MSD trigger inputs. In MS you need to invert the spark signal since your going directly to a ignition box.

The ignition boxes do still have some characteristics that the MS cant duplicate like spark intensity and multiple sparks per cycle.

I understand the concept of using MS to drive a capacitive discharge-type ignition module. I was unaware that his setup necessitated such a configuration.

Do you use an MSD box, Terry? I'm finding they have longevity issues...

I prefer Crane Paul.....I have seen MSD boxes fail on members here so I stayed away from it. Its well known in the antique crowd that MSD boxes do not do well in a harsh environment like under your hood. Most people put them in the interior.

My Superbee has it mounted under the hood and I have never had an issue with it at 12 years old (6AL). I havent had a chance to relocate it.

Agreed 100% I use the Crane box with my MSNS also. There have been several cited instances here on 2gnt alone of the the MSD boxes completely and for no reason at all, failing leaving the drier stranded with no idea of why the car stopped working.
The crane works great, has 2 adjustable rev limiter points, and has never given me any problems.

Hey Terry and dj do you have to change anything on the board to use the crane unit, or just in the software? I have seen it spelled out for the MSD boxes but never for the crane...

Run the Crane the same way you run the MSD.
