On your third paragraph pertaining to the waveform generators? Where on earth am I going to start w/ that one?! How or what is the 420A Decoder? Is that a code that needs to be integrated to the code for MegaTune? And if it is, what version of MT are you talking about?

The 4G63 modules can be acquired at a junkyard. I got a working one really cheap (less than $5 I think, can't remember) from a junkyard.

If you go that route keep Q16 and R43 in a safe place. If you eventually want to get rid of the 4G63 module you can buy 1 more Q16 and essentially mimik the 4G63 module inside of the MS which is nice because that way you have 1 less external component.

For the 420A decoder... It's part of the -extra code located on
http://megasquirt.sf.net/extra
The 420A decoder is a software option that tells the CPU that it is looking at a 420A crank angle sensor and not your average tachometer signal. This lets you run spark outputs using the LED's as a source to be hooked up to a VB921, a 4G63 module, a Crane/MSD box, etc... If you don't want to hook up to the crank angle sensor then you set this option to disabled, that is how you run fuel only. To enable the decoder in MT, it's under "Code Config -> Codebase outputs and functions"

For the newer -extra releases which have much better dwell controll (needed for spark) you will need to use MT 596 or later, located at
