I figured its about time we started this. I'll let Dino chime in on the size of the purse. There is going to be a $5 signup this year and we are also taking donations to raise the purse size (2gNTs only :P)

This is taking place FRIDAY night during the test and tune. Make as many runs as you like. Fastest time slip wins each class. We're not going to be able to do heads up as there will be a number of cars racing that night.

I expect someone else to blow up their car 1400 miles from home this year and get cannibalized for parts when someone snaps an axle (oh it will happen ... someone is going to think that their 25G or 60-1 won't snap an axle if they baby it off the line ... take that Derek :P).

I don't wanna break anything, and as slow as I will be n/a odds are against it but I won't be afraid to living only 2 hours away :P I'm sure AAA can handle that.

I for one would like to be spraying but.....I'm probably not remembering the answer.... but even though it says 4g63 powered only the 420a can still run in those classes right? And if so I would be able to spray so.... I don't see the harm in that really, whats a little n20 between friends. 4. NO nitrous allowed on any vehicle EXCEPT in Quick 16, Bracket 1 and Bracket 2. Bracket 1 (B1) Anything goes as long as it is 4g63 powered. This is a handicapped start class. 0-12.99. Bracket 2 (B2) Anything goes as long as it is 4g63 powered. This is a handicapped start class. 13.00 and slower. QUICK 16 (Q16) This is an anything goes class. No full tube chassis cars. All cars must be 4g63 powered. You must qualify for the field to run in it. (3) qualifiers will be given. 10am, 11am and 12 pm. If you do not qualify you can enter any other class your car fits into. If it is a gutted race car it will only fit into B1 or B2.

If everthing goes as planned, i'll be running around 24-25 psi on the S16G and megasquirt :) I prob wont have upgraded axles, so i'll be sure to bring extras haha

I'd sign up for the NA class but running 8.8:1 pistons without boost yet would really suck, and I'd love to be boosted before the shootout, but I have a shitload of parts to buy as well as getting thing fabricated and then tuning...oh man.

It's 18 hours non-stop to Wichita from Phoenix. Another 10 to Chicago, and about 4 more to Norwalk. That's 32 hours according to GoogleMap. I'm sure we can do it in less than that, but not by much, as you get tired and run a tad slower after the first day's driving.

Now, I plan on enjoying a celebratory shot of Jameson's with BitchHands Thursday night in the greater Chicagoland area, so this means we have 28 hours of driving to get in before Thursday evening. That's easily two 14-hour days, ending on Thursday, so we'd be heading out early Wednesday AM, but I'm thinking it would be better to roll out Tuesday AM and not push our luck.

Of course, if I have a co-driver (*cough*SoCalRob!*cough*), this is a non-stop flight. The jury is still out on run4cvr making the drive or having to fly out there. He works for himself and has a big job coming down in late-July/early-August, so he might not be able to spare the time to drive up and back.

It's going to be a hell of a drive. Looking forward to it. Boss has given the green light to have the time off, so as long as I have the money in the bank to make the trip, Daisy will be there and barking at BigEvil.

I better not have to walk home... x(

I had nearly half my travel budget saved up before I had to rebuild the tranny twice back in April. Ate up about $500 of my Shootout budget. When you figure in the two weeks time off without pay to make the drive there and back, it's going to run me about $1800 to make the drive. Fuck NRP. I just watched that video of your car again and I think I speak for everyone here when I say that car needs to be seen in person in Norwalk. To see a couple trim pieces in that color simply does not do the car justice. You were there last year. You know what the cars look like at the Shootout. I'm still not sure if my car will make it or not, right now it's up on jackstands waiting for some new PE motor mount bushings. I'll drive it out if it feels right otherwise I'll probably acquire a ride with one of the NEDSM guys, in a tow veichle if I'm really lucky ;)
