Just wondering if we could "check in" as to who is going and who knows now that they cant.

We (me and Madhatter) will be there for sure. :thumbsup

As a person who has been through this a few times before. Don't count on about 60% of people in this thread who say they are going to actually show up. Every year the list is 70-100 people long who "promise" they are going and very few actually do.

I know for certain I am going, and there is no changing that for me. Been three years in a row now. Let's make a formal list so we can see what this year's percentage is:

Dammit, Josh. You fly to Chicago on Friday AM, I'll pick you up at 8am and we'll meet up with the caravan on the way out of town. Daisy will be able to catch up by then. You are almost out of time already. BW has been sold out for about a month or more. Econolodge and Amerihost MIGHT have space still but I wouldn't wait.

Honestly, I know I'm not alone when I was calling in October last year to make reservations when the dates were announced. 6 months headway is far too little these days.

I just spoke with a really nice girl at the national BW reservations line to make sure that A) I still have my rooms, and B) the BW in Norwalk does have rooms to rent that weekend. She confrimed my reservations for me and said that her system still shows availablilty and so online rservations would still be accepted. When I expressed concern about driving all the way from Arizona to find they were double booked and possibly being shafted out of any room at that point, she put me on hold and called the front desk directly. When she came back, she told me the girl at the front desk in Norwalk said that, while they are definitely sold out of certain room types, they are only at about 60% booked that weekend as of tonight. If you want a room there, don't piss and moan about whether it's a non-smoking room or only has a king sized bed in it. Suck it up and get your room while you still can. I'm betting the local manager doesn't want to have to turn away people who will actually be coming because shitbricks are going to book rooms and then bail at the last minute. If you're really going to go, get your rooms while you still can, imo. If not, well, don't say you didn't know...

Thank you brian for confirming that for everyone, I kinda felt leary last week when I booked mine, so much in fact I also did the call, lol plenty o rooms imo. I was even thinking bout the one with the microwave and fridge but was a little pricy and I don't think I have to cook beer and candy bars lol.
