Hey everyone!

I recently bought a 96 eclipse RS. I freaking love it, i have een an eclipse lover for years and i finally obtained enough money. I have been searching and reading for anything i can possably learn about my car. I just have a quick question about the throttle nplate adjustment, does anyone or CAN anyone show me some pictures to further help describe the proccess??

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm sure there are pictures out there, but I'd be happy to see about explaining it for you on one condition. You tell us just what in the hell your screen name means. LOL. :P

Basically, you pull off the intake pipe so you can see the throttle plate. Then set a brick on the gas pedal to "floor" it (if you don't have a buddy around to do it for you). Look at the throttle plate. Is it flat? Is it open all the way? If not, you take your trusty 10mm and break the two bolts on the front of the intake manifold loose a wee bit (the ones that hold the throttle cable in place). Move the cable back and forth while watching the throttle plate and note whether it opens or closes. You want it to be as close to flat (-) as possible when you floor it. When you think you have it adjusted right, tighten those two bolts back down and you're done.

Now, about that screen name... ;)
