99829, No Oil In Head HELP!!!
Posted by R34Eclipse, Jul-15-06 12:19 PM
Ok so i got my car back together and its running great EXCEPT there is no oil coming into the head. I have oil pressure in the block, and oil pumping through the turbo feed line, but when we run the car w/o a valve cover there is no oil pumping through the lifters and they're making a ticking. I put in new lifters and they continue to tick because of the lack of oil. Any info on why it would no pump oil into the head. We tied the coil pack out of the way and ran the car for a few minutes w/o a valve cover, and no oil spray was coming up. No oil seemed to be puming out of the lifters. I'm lost as to why i have oil running everywhere else but none in the head.

maybe you put the head gasket on wrong, and its blocking the oil passages?

that is a good call^^^^^ cause everything that you mentioned is hooked up below the gasket. take a light and see what you can see. maybe a long rod that you see if it hits anything. hope the best for ya.

I agree. If the head gasket is not put on the right way it will block the oil feed passage to the head.

if it has been ran without oil going to the head for more than just a second or two then the head is trash because the cam and cam seats are trashed
