im pulling my motor in my 95 talon while i have it out awaiting the find of another motor is there anything that would be good to do

when you disconect each senosr lable it with what it is and a peice of tape, if you remove any bolts put them in labled baggys, and last but not least pull the engien and tranyn out together, it will save you alot of hassle lining up the engine and tranny later

Tranny service: replace seals on outside of trans where CVs install, replace clutch, replace TOB, replace fluid.

Throw in a period or comma from time to time so we can make more sense of what you're trying to say...

Maybe replace the heater hoses, they are a pain with the mtoor in, and you probably haven't changed them in a while.

Exactly, I always try to replace all the hoses, belts, and accessible seals as possible.

Another thing I did, and this is because I was anal about things, was to clean the entire engine bay, and made sure the engine that went back in was clean and painted. Sounds dumb, but if anything leaks, you know exactly where its coming from. Plus it will be easier and cleaner to work on in the future.

Do what the others above said also.

in addition to what driggs said, might wanna replace the input shaft seal on the transmission, cuz if it starts leaking...then there goes fluid outta tranny, and soaked clutch...not good...maybe the same w/ the engine, if you go used..rebuild then you SHOULD have replaced the seal, and maybe motor mounts...but thats really up to you

might wanna replace the clutch when u get it out...unless it's farily new.

Well I guess my clutch suggestion was already covered if i had read more carefully. lol

IF you had a problem with the motor mount bolt (you'll know the one I'm talking about if you had the problem) AND you want to make an access hole, now would be the time to do it. You can make a nice hole using a holesaw and then put in a pretty rubber grommett for easy access later on.

No need for that, sir! There is a method that works like a charm. You could remove the bolt my by method three times in the amount of time it takes you to drill that hole. (Although the hole does have benefits.)

Actually Brian, I have not had that problem myself. I have read that others have. I use the up and down method and it works for me (angle engine up and then down). If you notice I put the capital IF in there ;-) to reference if thay had that problem. I read on some threads that people have a problem with the up and down method (I don't know if that is your method) so I figured this would be the best time to make that fun access hole. Different strokes for different folks :thumbsup

Ah. They just aren't doing it right. It's not so much about moving the engine up and down as it is about getting the bolt aligned with the recess in the fenderwell intended for removal of this bolt.

I hear ya, the idea of a hole you can slip an extension though is a fine one. I even began to drill the hole once, but decided I didn't want the hole. Now I have this little circle scar on my inner fender. :P
