Ok, I really have no idea about this so I'm wondering what your take on this is.

Every time I run my car with the AC on, it's fine...until I get to take a turn at low RPM's.

Anyways, I usually let it squeak out and then it's fine the rest of the drive.

But today, particularly, I tried to let it squeak out but my car wouldn't turn. So, I shut off the AC, and made the turn.

I would just assume that this is the power steering pump. Could it be something else?

My powersteering pump needs to be replaced too... the pulley on it wobbles, and it recently chewed up my belt.

It also makes a grinding/sqealing noise when I fully turn my car to the right.

Check the belt for wear, and see if there is play on the pump pulley.

Else, I'm not sure why it's only low rpms. But, the AC runs off the same belt. Hope someone else can provide more insight.

Nah, belts are new, along with the head.

Well, it'll squeel very quietly until it SQUEAKS to its full extent, which is usually at low RPM's.

Can you pull the shaft in and out any? Mine did this, but it turns out the clip that holds the shaft in came off and the pump pulley would 'walk' out a little. Power steering would randomly work/not work, squeel like a stuck pig, etc. The belt ended up getting thrown off. Replaced the pump and all was well after that, except I was spoiled with the extra power I got from no accessories.

He just means grab the pulley and try to move it. It should have almost no play. I know dumb question, but sometimes we over look the simple stuff...I know I do...the belt have the correct tension?? Fluid level sufficient?? If so, I would say time for a new pump.

So just curious...

My cars power steering belt broke due to the play in the pulley, so ive been driving it around without the power steering.

But I've noticed, when I turn the wheel full lock right, I heard a grinding sound, and a horrible sqealing.

Is that the pump as well?

I guess I won't know until I swap it eh?

If the pump's not hooked up, then no, it cannot be the pump and is probably the wheel rubbing on the inner fender.

If the pump's hooked up, then yes.

No the pump doesnt have a belt currently...

Hmm, it seems to be getting worse, and the sound is metal on metal while turning right only...

I check the wheel clearance, seems to be fine, and its only when I move.

Check the insides of your rims for any scratches where the rim might be rubbing against a suspension piece.

Nope, checked the inside of my rims, they are clean.

Since it is not the power steering pump, i will start my own thread.
