99109, Overheating... Posted by Dsm98Nt, Jun-02-06 05:38 PM
Well today after about 2 weeks without a 02 sensor i finally got one and put it in. well afterwards i started it up and let it run for a couple minutes (maybe about 3-5 minutes) and i get in the car and my thermostat was all the way up at H. so i gave it alittle gas accidently and the temp started to fly back down to normal (Middle). and then i would let it idle and it happened again... maybe my computer just needs to get use to the o2 sensor being there.. but doesnt really make sense why its overheating.. Or maybe the stupid gauge is going crazy or some shit.. i checked coolant and all fluids and there all fine. no leaks or anything. Just throw some ideas out if you can and ill check them tomorrow. Thanks for the help!

Strange. I had the same problem with the car overheating at idle... it was because I had an air bubble. Try pouring more coolant in.

nothing wrong with your guage. Car is overheating because something is wrong. Check the simple things first.
