Just wanted to say thanks to all who gave input during my head swap and timing belt replacement...

It's the little detailed answers to my seemingly obscure questions that made all the difference....

Last night, I drained and refilled all the fluids, coolant, oil, etc...Buttoned a few last details up and let her run for about half hour, till battery died..>I am still waiting for crank pulley to arrive...

No leaks detected yet, no burning oil or coolant....There is some yuck in the coolant but that got their during the head removal and I havn't flushed it out yet....Some is from pressure washing the block while head was removed....

But overall after about 15 minutes, some post rebuild yuck grease had managed to burn all off...

Now it just runs awesome with no codes thrown , no ugly sounds, and no apparant leaks....

Crank pulley should be on about Weds night when Rockauto gets it to me.....Then I can leave the KLR at home and take this during our bad weather days...(Hail hurts like hail doing 60 on a bike)...

So thank you...This is just a feedback report...

OK ya'll crank pulley went on Friday night\Sat morn at 3:30AM...Everything got buttoned up and a few last minute things such as new rad cap and some vac lines....And she was good to go....

I drove it around a lot yesterday and took it to work today....

No CEL's, no leaks, no bad smells and coolant guage stays put in the middle....

This is justa recap to say Thanks again..>If weren't for ya'll and this board, it would have taken weeks longer!

Thanks for helping me revive my car from the dead...

BTW, that Mechanical Tensioner kit from Parts Dinosaur went in smooth and works great...Seems very reliable....Belt was a bit tight, but by removing one bolt from idler pulley, I put the belt on and remounted the pulley with belt on..Got it lined up in one shot....

That's how I did mine. I put one bolt in the tensioner bracket and used it as a pivot point to rock the pulley outta the way to install the belt. It was so simple that way.
