9805, adjustable cam gear worth it? Posted by icjeclipse, Dec-09-01 02:20 PM
Would installing AEM cam gears on my 95 RS w/ only intake and exhaust really help? IF it would, what settings would i want to put them on? Thanks

they would probably help a little, but i dunno if i'd worry about it unless you plan on doing your 60K maintaince and have some extra money layin' around... its hard to get cam gears adjust right, only real way to do it is on the dyno which is expensive...

My GS made 125fwhp with AEM intake, Tanabe Exhaust, which was too big but I was going turbo, and AEM cam gears. The cam gears set to 0 produced 119fwhp. I also managed to make 10 more hp between 6-7k when it would normally drop off after peak by tuning the gears from 0 to -2 exhaust -2 intake. I had no loss in torque and at least a 1hp gain throughout. I think they are worth it.
