97897, Question about block bore
Posted by BCMFlash811, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Hey everybody. Been lurking on this forum for a couple years now, and I've fixed multiple problems with my Talon using helpful posts from members here. Late last fall I spun a rod bearing and damaged my crankshaft. I tried to just replace the rod bearings and pray but no such luck. I've got roughly 1500 to work with and I'm going to pull the engine on it this week. (Already got everything disconnected and labeled just waiting on a hoist)

Now my question is, what would you suggest to bore it to? .01, .02, .03? I want to put a small turbo on (10g-12g) and was wondering if our cylinder walls are strong enough to handle .03 or not.

it depends on if the cyl walls are out of round, you can usually fix all out of round issues with a .20 overbore, if it is a block that had extreamly low miles you might be able to get away with a .10 bore
