i am rebuildin my 420a i need to know how to get the camshaft bearing caps checked since i had 6 bent valves and i want to make sure that when i put my new cams in that the bearing caps are all set up right..... and if they need to be replaced where could i find them at?

I nailed all of my valves with big cams (Crower 3's) and my bearing caps were fine, I'm still using them. They should feel smooth to the touch and look very shiny.

They can't be replaced. The cam caps are head specific. If they are bad, the head is junk. You should be ok.

the caps are still really smooth but in some spots on them there is some color difference part of it is a real light black
