How interested would people be in a supercharger kit for the 420A Eclipse/Talon? It would be under $3,000 and include everything needed (with instructions of course) for 300HP without going into the engine internals.

Personally? Not one damn bit.
Show me 300wHP on a stock motor and i'll show you factory rod bolts about to let go.

personally id still like to see the kit, all the pieces, and it installed. post pics... we'll check the validity, then perhaps someone might actually think about it... not me but im just saying someone might come across the post and be interested.

Send me one for free and I will "test" it here for everybody...no charge to you! PM me if you are interested.

Haha. If the price wasn't the same or more then most turbo kits out there for the 420a, you might have people. But it being the same / more means no one will like to go that route when there are already proven methods on this car. Make one, see if any one buys it.

i would go supercharged if i had the money. some features i like are no mods to the oil system, i can have boost just off idle, no turbo timer needed and it different. if you could just sell the supercharger and the adapter plate needed along with a how to guide i would try it. yea turbos are great, but to me there is more than one way to gain power and i think some people shouldnt be so quick to jump at the guy for seeing if there are people wanting a different route.

Well, we have seen plenty of people talk about supercharging our cars, but there isnt one proved. That is why everyone jumps on him, just do it and prove it then we will consider it and talk more about it. Until then, we dont need to see any more "supercharged 420A" threads that are worthless. I encourage him to do it, then let us know how it is.

there is the guy on team-2g.com that most everyone seems to believe. after talking with him i think he is for real and knows what he is doing.

Superchargers are for RWD/AWD cars.
It's hard enough just to keep a laggy turbo FWD car on the ground.

Right, having 'boost off idle' in a FWD car is not a good thing! There's no point in having 300whp if you ca't put any of it to the ground! For me, turbo is the only way to go :)
That being said, I would still like to see this setup and how well it really runs.

do it and take pics, if it's got a CARB sticker on it then $3k aint bad at all. I'd like to see it done too, but I don't think I'd rock it, something about parasitic lose that bothers me. BTW tone down your horsepower goals till you've got it put together and on a dyno, otherwise you may be sorely disappointed, I'm thinkin 200whp is a good place to start, and wouldn't be too shabby in our cars either.

Pretty sure he pieced his kit together for less than $1500 at that. For some reason, I tend to believe that guy on T2G. Whether it's any good for this application or not is beside the point. It's something different.

i have heard of one on cardomain but i also hear it runs like shit but Supercharges are not just for AWD or RWD the Cobalt is an example of a FWD car and also i know someone with a Superchared RSX it runs good but its not that fast i dont know i would try it but not for dayly driving i think Supercharges belong on Amarican cars realy

Yeah, i remember that, wasnt he from florida. Last i heard a member of t2G was supposed to make the drive to check it out.... Whatever happened with that brian?

what i remember is i saw a supercharger on ebay for the 420a it was a prototype only like 45 made i think it was a eaton or a eaton type (it was a few months ago)just as much as a turbo but maxed out at i think 9psi of boost so yes cool but alot of money to be diffrent
for autoxing go with a smaller turbo and some head work will get rid of alot of that lagg or so im told

Someone was supposed to head down there and meet him, but he owns a business, got busy, and they never met up. Then the morons and sell outs jumped on a flaming bandwagon and the guy decided to walk away from the site. I don't blame him.
I talked to him a couple times through PMs and he seemed to have his shit together. It's not that he just placed parts in his engine bay for some grainy pictures. He really installed this thing. Of all the times I've seen pictures of superchargers sitting on 420As, this was the most believeable, but the guy hasn't been around much that I know of. I don't get over to that site too often these days.

He returns every now and then. I have talked to him on AIM, haven't in a while, but I agree when Driggs says he's got his shit together. He always insists that we talk on the phone, so he can explain things better, and is not one of those people that claim they have a s/c, post some shitty pics, then leave and are never heard from again. I think he says he has 2 2gnt's s/c'd. but don't quote me on that.

well superchargers are good for windy circuit tracks. That's one advantage over the turbo since you don't have lag you can just pull out of corners if your revs go too low. But with a turbo just keep the revs up.
My dad has a supercharged MR2 and its not all that compared to a turbo car, its got torque but that's about all its got. Then increasing the boost is another problem you have to over drive the belt to get more boost. When for a turbocharger all you need is a boost controller. Not a lotta room to work with the intake manifold on our cars also maybe a neon would be better for that.
well in the end whatever floats your boat, but 300 HP is a lot of power I don't think the internals would handle that.

lmao it only ran at high rpm, he had to basically keep it floored to run. he was working on it.

Yea, I doubt anyone is going to pay 3000 for a S/C kit when some guy at team-2g explained how to create one for less than half that.
