Some of you may recall seeing my thread in here a week or 2 ago. My car had fuel cut, loss of power, low fuel light flashing on and off, and just overall not seeming right at all.

Well, I couldn't figure it out. So I gave in and dropped it off at the dealership.

Talked to them today. My CAI wore through the ECU harness. Thus that allowed the wires to cross and it fried me ECU. So now they have to order me in a new one. Lovely isn't it?

I would buy a used ECU before satin orders you a brand new one, then it has to be re-programmed and shit 'i think'. that costs a good penny too.

I agree. I'd try to find one from a part out before I let satan do it. Tha will get real expensive through them.

satan wants 1300 for one programed here in florida, you can find them on ebaty all day long foe less than 100. i got mine at a junk lot for 50 bucks been kicking since

by the way, how the ?<:" did your coldair intake melt the wires going to the ecu? If its a cold air intake :thumbsup it should be drawing in "cold air" ??? if your intake got hot enough to melt wires than id say its not sucking in cold air or if it is it aint gonna be cold when it passes through all that heat? i use to run an aem cai and never remember it getting hot??? id look into where all this heat is comming from under your hood and maybe put your regular intake back in or buy a newer better one.

Above is from the OP, so I'd say that it was vibrating against the wiring harness and over time wore through the insulation.

yup, get one from the yards or atleast from ecu2go.com as last resort, 300 dlls and 3 yr warranty, but look on the board and ebay first!

Ya the intake didn't melt the wiring, just wore through it. Ya, it actually isn't too bad. They are fixing the harness, did the scans,diagnostic checks, replacing the computer, all for 880. It was already there and I was tired of dealing with it.

i guess that makes more sence now that you mention it. im assuming you battery is not bolted down right? this would cause the battery to be able to flop around and in time do what you mentioned, i had a similar thing happen between my battery and cai (cheapo i got from ebay only the battery won the battle and bored a hole right in the cai lol good luck 8 bills ouch! i guess we live and learn!
