The car doesn't want to start. When I try to start the car, it struggles to stay running, it idles for 1 second and then dies. It feels like fuel related. I have changed the fuel pump and fuel filter.

Try checking the Fuel pressure. The specs are in the manual. Something like 35psi idle with vacuum and 43psi no vacuum. Dont quote me on that.

IAC motor.
And no, my 95's regulator has never gone bad.

97398, RE: 1995 2GNT Owners Posted by taloniized, Mar-24-06 03:38 PM
I did. No vacuum I got 40psi and that's why I changed out the fuel pump and fuel filter. The only thing I haven't changed is the fuel pressure regulator. What else could it be?

ive had the same problem (maybe), but mine was not fuel related. i was getting plenty of fuel, but not enough spark...i had someone turn it over, and i happened to be wiggling the wires that attach to the coil pack and it started. its done this multiple times to me.

Yeah, it doesnt have to be fuel related, it could be a number of things... crank sensor, no spark, anything. is your starter turning? Can you tell us what changed or symptoms you were having before this problem.

I didn't have any problems before this happen. One day I just went out to start the car and it was struggling to stay at idle for a few seconds and it would then be fine after that. I do the same thing again and now it starts for a second and then stalls.

The IAC (Idle Air Controller) is a solonoid or sensor on your throttle body that regulates your cars idle. It's the thing that's below the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).
If I am incorrect in anything I said please correct me, it's the only way I'll learn.

There was a reacall for that. I just got a call from the dealer a few weeks back saying I have an open recall and it's for the pressure regulator and one other thing that I forgot. If you aren't sure if you got it done you might as well check and maybe get a free one.

I had just finished my motor/atx rebuild and while cranking the 1st time it went out and dumped fuel all over the place. Now I gotta wait for a new one to get in....at least it is easy as hell to replace.
