Has anyone checked this out...its supposed to work with factory harnesses and is windows based..It can be controlled in realtime via laptop and they say you can control fuel curve and boost.You can also apply they rev limiter where you want it. This looks like the real deal...if they make a harness for our cars and it doesnt cost 2.5 billion to purchase...

dont know yet...they dont have the apps posted for it yet....I saw another ad for it and it said something about all you needed was a harness adapter. I was really wondering if anyone else knew anything bout it.

I think it's only gonna come out for the 4G63. I dunno tho. I think I remember reading that or someone posted about it. Maybe not, but probably just another toy only the turbo guys can have.

There not expensive either, like $379 so hopefully they'll make it for you guys (they say most popular applications which should mean 2GNT since believe it or not its <2G eclipses>the third most popular car in the aftermarket behind the civic and integra).And you make up 80% of 2G eclipses.

There actually is an app chart, but they don't say specifically which engine. I would assume its 4g63.

Yes they make it for the eclipse (95-99) but true no engine specification...

I'm dying to hear some more info about it...looks like a real nice ecu addon/replacement...

But something like this (if you compare it to a haltech or accel DFI) it must cost around 1 grand...

I doubt they have it for the nonturbos yet. AEM was looking for a 95-96 4g63 just a couple weeks ago to do some compatibility testing on. I'm sure they would focus on the 4g63 before they even thought of touching the 420a. But ya, most likely around 1k dollars would be my guess...

Its the Greddy E-Manage that retails for like $379. Its PC programmable and has way more functions than the AFC (timing control for one) but doubt they will ever make one for our car. Too bad cause it has like 16 points of fuel and timing adjustments and other shit.

OK...If a the direct replacement is not made for our cars, how hard do yall think it would be to plug in the Race Programable Engine Management System. As I understand it, its a stand alone ECU unit and is able to do all the shit the other one can ...it just has to be configured...Hell it may be a pain in the ass but it might be the way to get past the rev limmiter issue...

The biggest pain would be programming the software. Download their trial (beta) version and try to set some parameters. I'm sure it's more user friendly than haltech (et al), but it's a pain to set all your own parameters. If they don't make the harness for our car, you also won't be able to download the "factory" ecu settings into the program and you'll have to set all the parameters.

Ya, I downloaded the software a ways back...Jacked with it for a bit...couldnt really do anything as I had no basis for reference...I guess time will tell...I guess another question would be has anyone heard anything in regards to cracking the code that is used to meter our cars?

Unfortunately so.
Probably not a joy to install either with the 10 or who knows how many sensors to hook up even though some factory sensors may or may not be used. If its not a full race car the factory ECU should be maintained to control non engine operations (making it more of a pain). Programming from scratch probably takes forever unless they have specific software just to get you running without any fine tuning.

I think it replaces the factory ECU alltogether

the aem one is around $1000-1500 they have two of them. One is the race version which is about 1500 and the other one is for normal which retails for around 1000 or a little more. And I think they only are for the 4g63 motor.

There's a racing ECU, but you gotta wire the harness yourself, that's gotta suck. So do you think if they do make em will there be a seperate one for 95s? Since 95s have OBD I?

hmm...I hope they come out with it for the 420A, I'd rather have that than the Accel DFI when it comes time for it. Would make a great holiday gift from my parents as well if its not a riduclous price. lets all hope. =))

What about the Electromotive TEC-3 which is coming out. They had the TEC-II for the Neon 420A so it wouldn't be that hard to adapt that one for ours or to have Electromotive make you one that will work with our factory sensors. Michael97_RS has done a little more research because that's what he is looking into for his all motor beast!
