Im getting ready for an oil change. I am wanting to clean out my internals so im going to buy some seam foam and put it in through the TB. Since our TB is sideways, whats the best way to get it in? And how do I go about using it? Thanks

I use sea foam every oil change, it's the best stuff you can buy. all you have to do is disconnect the pcv valve and stick the vacuum line into the bottle and it sucks it all in. you will have to manually keep the car from shutting off but that's easy.

Park your car at remote location; away from people or places that don't like black smoke everywhere. Find a vacuum hose to the tb. Take it off and use another vacuum hose (pick it up at parts store) to connect the can of seafoam to the tb. Best to have someone start the car and try to hold it at 2k rpms while the seafoam drains. The car will want to die and not idle right because the other vacuum hose is gone. After the seafoam is drianed, let the car sit for ~ 20 minutes. Start car and drive around while black smoke pours from your exhaust. Replace oil and spark plugs.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I have done this with other cars but not my 2gnt.

so I take off a total of TWO vaccume lines goin to the TB, Pinch one off(block it) and use the other to pick up the seafoam. Why do I need to use 2 and not just one? Can this shit cause hydrolock?

No, use one line to connect to the seafoam. No pinching off other lines.
I just meant it is best to get another vacuum hose just to put in the can, unless you want to use the hose you pulled off. I could never get those to fit in the can, though.

No, it doesn't cause hydrolock.

I've heard before also that it could cause hydrolock...... however my and my friends have done it hundreds of times to dozens of cars and never one problem cept an ocassional cel.........

Technically, hydrolocking can be any liquid that "locks" a motor due to it's incompressability.

i had the same questions the first time i did mine. just find a hose that goes into the TB. And "sip" the seafoam in with it, other wise it will turn off on you, skim the surface with the hose, ull see, divide the can in two parts, put one half in the gas tank. Btw i think its WHITE smoke that came out of mine not black... :)

what about a cap full in each spark plug hole ?

hmm i dont remember if i did that, but i think i did...o wait i did, just be safe and go easy on how much u put in, once u do, le it rest there for a bit, that was the 1st i did, i let it sit over night. Make sure the car is cold tho when u put it in :) u avoid a burn and unnecesary risks.

k i got a bottle today. It says only use 1/3 of a pint to the TB? Is it safe to use the whole bottle still? Also how much do I pur in with my oil? Can I use half a bottle in the oil, and half in the TB...or will both spots do the same things?

it is safe to use the entire can that's what I do, and idk about the oil I've never tried putting in my oil.

I wouldnt put any in your oil unless you are flushing it or something. I usually just put it in the tb/vac lines, and my gas tank. I've used it in my oil before, but I was using it to flush it. I only let my car run for about 1.5 minutes and then drained it and put fresh oil in and filter...

I just got done dfoing it through the vaccume line. Smoked like a train for about 3 minutes and stopped. Why didnt it smoke as long as people say it will? Does that mean my engine was already kinda clean?

How long did you expect it to smoke for? That seems about right to me.

lol somewhere i read it will smoke for aroun 15 mins if not more....oh well car runs smoother

How many people have realized a NOTICABLE improvement?

I did, the car seems to idle smoothr now. Along with a slight better acceleration. I am going to run another bottle through this weekend, in the half in the oil, half in the gas, and another half of a can in the intake. Then I will change plugs, oil, and see how it does.
