96876, crossmember question!! Posted by 420Adebt, Mar-07-06 10:36 AM
ok guys, I barely bolted the crossmember down so I could still move my tranny some when I put my engine back in... well while doing so, the front 2 bolts, the ones that strip all the time w/ everyone, fell out... they dont appear to be stripped at all, however, I cannot get them to line up w/ the threaded holes... all the other bolts are in (the other 4) but I can not get these in, its like my engine/tranny needs to move an inch over, but that bitch wont move at all, even w/ a crowbar... any help would be appreciated.

loosen the rear bolts and the trans mount bolts that are in the crossmember. Then install the front bolts. The crossmember bolts all need to be threaded but loose so you can thread them all in. Once all are threaded in, then tighten them.
