I'm not an Expert, so that is why i'm asking.
My car is an Eagle Talon Esi 1995 (non turbo), it have the rmp computer restriction about at 7200rpm, does the headers install improve the preformance, horse power and torque?
Does this not compromise the starts, or low end torque.?

id say it helps.. helps the flow of exhaust gases.. and gives a nicer low rumbleee

4 2 1 no loss in low end and gains in mid range

4-1 loss in low end(we have none anyhoww) and big gains in top end..

someone said we cant rev high enough to see the gains but then some say get 4 1 get 4 1blah.. saving up for turbo so mine will be gone soon enough..

I think I can pull a little harder in 2nd and 3rd gear since I bought my header. But I don't think it was worth $400+ that I spent on it. I like it, guess I was just expecting a little more out of it.

i second that motion, looks nice in the engine bay, nice exhaust sound, little pull in the low end(contrary to the belief) in the high end, feels the same, can't really tell, put the 400$$ in your pocket and save for snail in the front better.

I have read that the Greddy headers give you a whooping 1 hp. So if you do not have nos they are pretty much all cosmetic.

Headers do more than just look pretty, they do improve performance. A stock exhaust manifold ischeap to make and not all that performance minded. exhaust gasses come through the exhaust in pulses from combustion header have exqual length runners so the pulses don't run into each other. It smooths out the power band and keeps exhaust gas velocity steady without. It more efficient. Is it the most bang for your buck? Probably not. But if you have plans to stay NA then I say it's a key mod.

I think maybe our stock exhaust manifolds are not that bad to begin with. In fact, on n/a cars (around 140 hp) I haven't seen any dyno results showing headers give any more than 5 hp. Typically see numbers around 3-4 hp. I think with under 150 hp, maybe these cars don't need that much exhaust flow, so it's not as crucial? I noticed no real difference except a slight loss in low end and a buzziness to my exhaust with my Hotshot 4-1. I would only recommend it for manual 2gnt oweners, not automatic since we can't rev high to take advantage of the high end gains.

See I didn't noticee any loss in power, but mine are a little different than most headers

Well i hope i see some gains... i just ordered mine yesterday.

well i got my kamikaze 4-1 for 270 shipped. was on sale.. hehe... though now i want turbo so ill sell that and my CAI ..

I'd say they do help, but I wouldn't go with a 4 to 2 to 1 design. This is because I haven't noticed any 1/4 mile improvement with mine maybe a small mid range gain. I'd say for the money you are going to invest into a header, get a 4 into 1 so you get the most top end gain possible.

Also I'd get one with ceramic coating, if it isn't coated, then get it coated. What seems to be best for coatings (the FSAE team I help out with found this out) is get the inside ceramic coated and the outside aluminized (if it's mild steel). The ceramic coating on the inside keeps the heat in but the outside coating doesn't seem to last more han 2 years or so beofre it starts to rust in places, the aluminized coating stays nice looking of much longer. I think the place where the FSAE team I help out with gets headers coated is called tubedyne.

well id say the header is lighter in weight.. the stocker is kinda heavy... plus its sand cast(or whateva u call it) so its not smooth.. id say a header is worth it.. some said dont get it first though.. wait.. but i got it 3rd.

What header did for me (brospeed):
1. made the top end much smoother if not any faster
2. made the engine bay look 100X better
3. saved probably 20lbs
4. made low and midrange better

What it didn't do:
1. allow me to beat anything I wasn't beating before
2. make the car actually fast

Personally if your staying NA I think headers are worth it for the looks alone.
