I blew my headgasket a week ago, so i decided to install a new one. The way i found out was coolant bubbling in the resevoir buit no oil in the coolant. So i got a new one and installed it. Well, while filling up the thermostat housing with new coolant, oil shot up into it and i was like how the hell did this happen. I didnt have any oil in the coolant passages when i pulled the head off, so i have no clue how the it just all of the sudden came up without even starting the car. So i pulled the head off, and saw the oil was all in the coolant passages. I bought new head bolts thinking maybe it wasnt torqued right. Re-torqued everything and installed the head all over again using the same head gasket since it still looked good. Well, today i finished up everything and flushed the radiator with some flush solution and then drained it. Started to fill coolant up in the housing and the oil came back up again. I started the car and it idles perfect and i took it for just a little drive and it drives fine, but oil shot out of the resevoir after i came back. So in am lost as to what to do next. The head is not warped and i dont know what to do next. What should i look for when i take the head off again? Any help would be appreciated.

Alot of oil or a little film on top. You need to get a cooling system pressure tester and pressure test the system. If it holds pressure then the cooling system is sealed. If it dont hold pressure then pull the oil drain plug and see if any coolant comes out. Coolant is heavier then oil and will come out before the oil. You may have a cracked head or block, but not real likely.

I drained my oil yesterday right before i turned the car on and it was milk and mixed with coolant. I have it coolant in my oil and oil in my coolant, i will seen what it loks like when i pull the head off today.

Pulled the head off and of course i see coolant and oil (light brown looking) all over the head gasket and in the coolant passages. I dont know how the oil got in the passages, anybody know, the head gasket is still good and there are no cracks in the block nor the head after inspecting them. ??????

send the head off to have it pressure checked. A crack in a head may not be able to be seen. but the head expands under pressure.

Yes, i double checked that to make sure i didnt.

I don't want to question your judgement, but how do you know the head isn't warped?

I bet you still had it backwards.

Your right, i dont know if its warped, but i just use a straight edge and checked for it. It wasnt checked professionally, so it may still be warped. I just put the head back on and am gonna continue on it thursday. Darkone, i didnt put it on backwards, i wish i did so i would know what the problem was, but nice suggestion. I will keep you guys updated, hopefully i got everything right.
