9618, Nitrous and all motor or turbo kit?
Posted by CoprEklipz, Dec-05-01 06:00 AM
I've finally accepted that I'm "stuck" with the 420a, so now my question lies, do I build the motor and run nitrous, or get a turbo kit? what are some of the performace specs on the two different setups? what are the approximate costs of doing them? there's gotta be at least one or two people with each of these setups. How much did it cost? what did it involve replacing/buying? What kind of numbers are you pulling?

Thanks guys!

hey man welcome..

well i have a rs .. dont be sad.. this site gaveme hope.. most others didnt

the best bang will be the turbo kit
its a high price but its always there for u.. unlike spray
stage 1 kits are about 5 psi and i think 200hp or more
stage 2 i think 9-10 psi and 250-275
about 2grand for stage 1
and 2900 for stage 2.

Nitrous will be the best for the bucks-- prob 500+
depending on what shot id say start at 50 and keep it there for a while and dont go over 75.. but 60 shot should be fine with our strong bottom end

Turbo is definately more worth it in the long run. Even in daily driving you can enjoy it... unlike nitrous where it's only for hardcore racing.

I know of two kits, and possibly a third. Hahnracecraft makes a turbo (http://www.hahnracecraft.com). So does Star Performance (http://www.turbogs.com). And NER(?) i'm not too familiar with the NER one.. just heard of it on the forum and it seems to be pretty accepted.

I personally have chosen the Hanh Racecraft turbo.. it's probably the most expensive one.. but it's been through alot of testing, and comes from a very experienced team. (plus one of the hahn people actually comes onto this forum and posts stuff).

here's an article on the turbo that was in one of my car magazines.

take off the " at the end of the link.. i didn't want it to load on the forum

and check out the HRC official site.. they have ALOT of info.. took me a while when i first discovered it to go through everything.

Definetely go turbo if you have the money, but nitrous is very nice for the price.

Turbo -> $2000-$3000
Nitrous -> $500-$1000

It really depends on how much you want to spend and what your goals are!
