well, i followed a write up on cleaning the TB and IAC motor and my slow rev problem is solved...partially. it seems that the revs only drop normally after the car is warmed up, or maybe the ECU is still learning, its only been cople hours and i only drove it like 1 mile.btw, i ported my own TB while it was out, not nearly 55mm but most od the hump is gone.
Now my next goal will be to fix my exhaust leaks. my question here is: will fixing these fix some of the idle jumpiness/mild car vibration? my exhaust sounds kinda irradic, not saying crazy, its just not a constant "prrrr" its systematic, like a bad Cyl. or somthing, a constant intermitance. well just wanted to say that ill take it to a local muffler shop to see what the status is on that. thanks in advance guys!

P.S. i got the dreaded "DSM door noise" and then some, god seems like these cars will never behave ho we want them!

Just out of curiosity, have you done a proper tune up, lately? Improperly gapped plugs or tired wires could contribute to a crappy idle more than holes in the exhaust, imo. :shrug

I just threw on a screamin' demon, fire wires, and Denso plugs (because I didn't care to wait for NGKs), and my idle smoothed way the hell out. Pulls smoother too. I bet most of it is just the new plugs being gapped right.

Yeah. Today my GF told me that she doesn't know if the plugs on her 99 Amigo have ever been changed. Ironic that she chenged mine for me, but has yet to do it on her own car. LOLz.

well i just put new plugs like...not even 500 miles ago maybe...since i only drive this car to the train station to go to college, and then when i get back drive it home and work, which is down the street. Can i just re-gap my current plugs or do i have to buy new ones. yea ive been wanting to get the MSD wires, i think i still may have the stockers, and its a 95, so thats definetly an issue. altho im currectly out of a job, since i was only seasonal, so that may have to wait.
but yea, can i just regap the ones i have right now?

You can certainly give it a shot. The chances of the lead breaking off are greater at this point, but what have you got to lose?

I'd still see if I could scrounge up $35 for a set of new wires from Autozone. :shrug

thanks man, u always give the best help, no really:) , ill do that then. bad news is i guess my ECU is done learning, the slow rev drop is back, and the CEL as well. i got P0403: EGR flow malfunction. i was so happy to see my revs drop normally!, why, why me lord...anyways...would plugs and wires have anything to do with my slow rev drop problem? maybe timing issues(i read that is the timing is off by one tooth i can cause this? i also hear a metalic whine at high RPMs from the Tbelt area, this morning when i got in my car i gased it kinda high, and i can hear it, kinda like is the metal is grinding)wires are a definite 1st once i get a job again, i may have to cancell my internet until i get money aswell, since i need the cash for more vital stuff, but ill be checking on my best friends PC everyday. keep the help coming guys, i apprecite it alot!

hazaa! well i found the damn leak. its on the bottom of my TB. i just got down on my engine compartmen (with it running LOL) and followed the sound as much as i could. wrapped my hand around the TB and that mofo pulled my inder finger in. quite a leak i should say. just ordered my TB gasket from World Wide Auto parts here in Chula Vista, (So.CA.)well, i guess that is that. oh and i picked up a can of WD-40, got got rid of that damned door squeeking! one more to the mod list ^^}(
