tonight i was taking my thottle body off to put on a new 55mm one and noticed oil in the intake manifold and thottle body i as wondering if this is normal

It is probably the EGR doing it's thing. It's function is to put nasty exhaust fumes back into your intake. There are ways to block it that way your intake doesn't get so disgusting, and your new pretty TB doesn't get all dirty, just do a search for EGR block off (or similar). I know a couple of people sell kits for reasonable prices as well, the only problem is that you WILL get a check engine light if you disable the EGR. Anyways, have fun.

oil is probably from the vent tube on the valve cover (not the PCV valve) but the other one.
There is also a restrictor available for the PVC valve I believe to keep oil from coming through in a hard corner situation
