Hey I was just wandering if any one knows where to buy a fully built 420a motor with all the internal work already done? Something that can handle a lot of boost but can be a daily driver (reliable)

All the questions have been answered already, why dont you all who constantly bitch about people not using the search just close down the boards and just leave a search box functioning.

I think I was quite pleasant. I clicked on my own link (which goes to a Performance/Engine forum search), typed "crate motor," and got 28 hits. The first thread shown is this one. In less than ten seconds after clicking my link, Tyson would have a good four hours worth of reading right in front of him. In less than an hour, he would be a virtual expert on the subject.

You're exactly right about all the questions being answered. I would have thought of the same two vendors you listed. Though I'm partial to ERT, it seems this community is seriously lacking a vendor who can sell something and get it to the customer in a timely fashion. Sure, engines take some time, but it's like all our 2GNT vendors are buried in work and are lagging way behind. Rather than make yet another post which could be construed as less than flattering to those vendors who have stood by this community over the years when other DSM vendors don't even bother with us, I figured it's better for someone to read what has been discussed in the past and make their own decision.

If anything, I was merely sarcastic. Excuse me.

We have several different choices. It says 4 to 8 weeks estimate for compleation but we have been running over that recently, reality has been about 12 weeks. Biggest reason is I'm a profectionist when it comes to my motors. Nothing leaves here unless it is right, no short cuts. Call me if you need any specifics. (304) 788-5391.

I think I'm gonna be one of the first guys if not first on here to test out the built short block from Concept Illusions...we'll see what happens

That is a shame, because we take great care to make sure our motors are the best. Bored and honed with a deck plate, balanced and blue printed. We degree the cams on the long blocks. We revise the oiling on the blocks, to make sure they last. Keep us in mind on the next one you get, it will be the best.

I'm sure you guys do a great job...but how long exactly would I have to wait ya know. I bet I could get one faster and cheaper through ERT who does an emaculate job as well...and they all work their part time ;) I recently got an AF/X UDP from you guys, and I received the wrong belts for it. Then got another set sent out to me, and when I called again and told you that one of the belts still didnt' fit the second time because my car didn't have ac...you told me you couldn't do anything about that, because all you knew was ac/ps together :shrug

Our estimate on time is 4 to 8 weeks, but this time of year we go over that and well let you know that at the time of order. Our motors are the best on the market. If they were not I would not sell put my name on them.

On the belts, we don't offer belts for non-AC cars. We have never had one to test fit them to, to get a side. All you had to do was tell us and we would have discounted the pulley and not supplied any belts and let you size them up. You got the same belts when we sent the second set out, because that is the only size we have, and that is for a car with AC. Non-AC cars are rare.

I can vouch for their short block, i bought one and it has given me no problems. I push my car alot as far as boost and the block has been perfect. They do a great job. The wait is not a problem, save up money to buy extra things needed while waiting. Fast cars are not made up of parts installed within a day and definetly not motors. They have to be right, not assembled in 2 days and go boost on it. You know the saying "good things happen to those who are patient or wait", one of those ways, haha.

If you need a short block we have some here already bored .020 over just waiting for the parts to be assembled into them, MAX turnaround time right now is 2 weeks if that before shipping via FEDEX Freight which only takes roughly 3-4 days to deliver across the counrty even less if your on the east coast! The guys we have working for us assembling these engines have over 30 years of experience behind their belts (50 year olds) and can do some impressive engine work to say the least, soon we will be offering CNC ported 420a heads with flow graphs and dyno sheets so be sure to check that out also!
