94939, What Kind Of Code Is This?

I got this code. P1294
Injector High Side Open - Bank 2/Target Idle Not Reached

Well lesson learned for me. I thought all computer codes were always directly related to a sensor. So that you knew what sensor or equipment was failing. I guess not. This is just basically telling me my car isn't running/idling right. Which is obvious to me cause of the erratic idle.

So...any suggestions on where to look? I searched this site and didn't find very useful information that could point me in a direction. Also, where the heck is bank 2?

Thanks guys!!

Could be that one of your injectors is stuck open? You could take a long screwdriver and listen to the injectors with the engine running to listen for one that isn't clicking or isn't clicking like the others. A stuck injector causes flooding in that cylinder, which prevents proper combustion. That would explain the target idle not being reached. When you're moving, the engine might be able to compensate somehow for the additional fuel.

Really what my car does is not idle right. It idles at like 1100 now. And when I push in the clutch coming to a stop the RPMs just bounce down and stay at 1500-2000 until I come to a stop.

Question about the code description. Is it necessarily both problems? Could the code have been triggered because of the target idle not being reached only?

If so, and your idle is high, check for vacuum leaks, bad/dirty IAC...blah blah blah...

Where is the IAC located on a 420a?

It's right on the Throttle Body. There's a TPS (throttle position sensor) and a IAC (intake air controller) I can't remember the specific location of each one, but the IAC has a rod that comes out of it to control how much air passes the throttle plate. You should be able to tell which one is which, or a manual could help you too.
