What is the best set of cam sprockets available on the market?

It's been awhile since I've looked into cam sprockets, but I remember the original AEM sprockets having weak bolts and mis-aligned timing marks. What about the new AEMs? How about Fidanza?

Also, are the Neon 420A sprockets the EXACT same as the Eclipse 420A sprockets?

Doug, if you remember i posted a set of Fidanza that I found on Ebay from the same vendor I got mine from. For the life of me i cant remember what the name of the vendor was but if you search ebay i am sure you can find them. I paid about 175.00 for the set. The have 5 stds from the backside (actually a button head bolt tightened from the back). I am very happy with them, never slipped on me. Initial marks were off, i ended up setting them by the index marks on the cams but i also had a decked head. I never laid the gears over the stocks to verify they were off. I can get you part numbes if you like and pictures.

i also have the fidanza cam gears, and didnt have a problem other than the lines being off. if you look at the marks on the fidanza, and look at the stock gears, on the opposite side is marked 2.4L, that is what they used for their marks on the fidanza's, so just take them and put them over top the stock ones, and remark them, mine were off about a half a tooth on each one, but i still like them a lot

i have the aems. got them maybe.... year ago. never slipped, and the marks are on.

i heard AEM had the marks lined up right, but i dunno, i think the fidanza look better, so i guess its more of a preference than anything, if you dont mind remarking them, go with the fidanza, but if looks dont matter, go with AEM

my AEM's are about 1/2 tooth off.

wow, from what i heard, they were dead on, guess there goes that theory out the window. so i guess its just a matter of which one you like better, thats all

has anyone wrote a letter or spoke to anyone from the companys that make these cam gears. I have fidanza gears that are off 1/2 tooth. I have read that is the same with the aems. We pay alot of money to have to correct these problems our selfs.

Call me dumn cause i don't have them, but what are the major gains in the cam gears over stock. I know their adjustable to advance timing, but I don't plan on adjusting my timing that way. So other than aesthetics, what?

Maybe. They're intended to allow you to adjust the time of your cams to advance or retard when your valves open in the interest of making more power. On stock cams, I think they might be good for a pony or two, but to get the most out of them, you're best bet would be to also install upgraded cams. Much more power to made that way.

I would only suggest cam gears to someone without cams after they had I/H/E/UDP done.
