Anyone have any thoughts? Kid seems sincere enough and even has some pictures. Some of his information sounds plausible, but I figured this might be something some of the veterans would like to check out. Supposedly, he will have better pictures up soon.

It was originally supposed to be a forum for az2gnt to use, but John and I had other plans at the time. Also, go ahead and laugh at my being called "The Hazer" all you want. I don't know what to say. I'd LOVE to see a video of a 2gnt with a SC spining. I'm really curious about all the point's you made Brian But he seems to kind of answer them with the upper and lower alternator bracket. I want to see the adaptor plate and how the lower mani is set up but if this were me and I was going to these lengths, I would have a bunch of fucking pictures go with that thread.

Ya know what, I never really thought this would be too hard ever since having my motor out and rebuilt. I just never had a e46 eaton supercharger around to mess with.

It makes sense to me and could work.

haha, I signed up as well, although, i'm not to excited about being called a Honda Lover so i probably wont post. This thread is rather exciting though. He seems to know a little. Unlike the few thousand other SC claims threads we've seen here. Maybe we could get someone from his area to do some field reporting for us. I was just about to start peicing together my kit but i may wait to see how this turns out.

I agree. One of the guys over there, MitsubishiMike, lives near him and he's talking about getting over to take a peak at this thing. I hope he'll have some kind of information for us by the weekend. This guy seems like he's put some effort into the system and might actually have it running. Whether it runs well is another story altogether, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt until he proves himself to be a fucktard.

I'm not a member of that other site I wanna see some of these pics as well. I'm a skeptic but I'm open minded. A SC on a 420a would make decent numbers from off idle. sounds interesting. someone please post some of those better pics he was talking about posting up soon.

That's all I was saying. I pretty much got on him because he went around and posted that you can have 182whp for less than a grand in something like three threads right after posting that.

I'm open to people trying new things, but you are stuck with the burden of proof if you want to make claims with something as taboo as S/C 2GNT. :shrug

Hold out for the good ones, man. Right now, they're all shitty camera phone pics. I tried to post one over here last night, but they've got them turned off or something. He attached them and you can't display them on another forum that I know of. If/when he gets pics up this week, I'll host them if I have to.

Eaton doesn't make the m64 anymore, I don't think. All I could find info on are the M45, M62, M90, & M112. I don't know which characteristics it matches better, but here are the graphs of the 62:





As it shows there, the peak is 22 HP @ 5psi, but I don't know what that's in reference to. I'm sure different motors will react differently to this blower. According to that graph, 7 psi would roughly be 29-30 hp. However, you can change the pulleys on these blowers to gain quite a bit more very easily.

If I had the money & the time, this is the route I'd go.

and as far as the belt. From the pictures, it looks like he just put a larger serpentine belt on there. That's what the KB setup does on mustangs.

I'm guessing that's how he runs the belt from:
you can use the water pump pulley from a ford probe modified to a supercharger pulley that should give you around 7 psi(unless you have a underdrive pulley)

I just saw where he said that m64 can push 14 psi on a 3.8l. That's a rather large blower. Probably closer to the M90-M112.

The only way i would ever do this is if i could find the supercharger itself for less than $500.....and thats proably not gonna happen anytime soon :thumbsdown

Its the only one on ebay right now, but damn thats pretty cheap so far.
Im not sure if that particular charger is even compatable though.

Wow, this seems really really really cool. I knew about the S/C, but never had details.

The problem I'd think you'd run into is getting a S/C small enough to fit in the bay. It's really cramped.

Thats why i looked at the m45....hell i dont know how an m90 would fit...

the best candidate for such project is the IHI supercharger of the mazda millenia with the miller cycle engine

you think that is crazy? back in the day my dad drove a 427 L-88, well over 500 ft-lbs, went to 7000rpm. He had no money for regular tires though, so he only had slicks. that was his only car, drove it every day for a few years. In michigan winters with heavy snow on Slicks! that had to have been crazy.

i can't believe this post has gone on this long. Even if he has done it and it does work, its still just as feasable and beneficial as throwing in a v-8. at the end we'll all say nice job but it's not worth the headache... and promptly move on and forget about it.

You are right on, Tim, however, it would be really nice to finally have one supercharged 2GNT out there that we can all agree was actually done legitimately. Feasiblity aside, it's something different, and I'm more interested in knowing that it has finally been done and runs. So what if the guy is way off base in terms of cost. :P

I hope you get some video, John. I think it would be bad ass to see a 2G and hear supercharger whine under the hood. }(
