my fucking luck blows today! I drive 100 miles each way to meet this guy and his dad who are (were?) VERY interested in buying my car. while test driving it and on the 3rd peelout "something" happened.
it would only build boost to about 5psi max, there is now a vaccum/boost leak of some kind that i can hear from the inside of the car where some vaccum lines come in at, and it is very noticable when i go into boost, and the rpms stay up at around 4-5k without doing anything, even in neutral. I had a nice cruise control on the way home x( .
no codes of anykind, EGT's are good, oil psi is good. I have never heard of anything like this from a boost/vaccum leak...

any ideas? I will be checking the obvious like TPS, vaccum lines, etc. anything else anyone can think of?

Tim check the vac lines on the back passenger side. I have blown them a few times myself pushing the boost up. Wire tie everything and call the prospective buyer back. Vac lines wont throw a code on ya so dont worry, i am very confident that is your issue.

Holy Shit! he managed to blow the extra 4 injectors right out of the bungs somehow. that would explain my "vaccum leak"! thank god i didn't boost much... holy shit! time to re-enforce the mounting bracket for them!!!! freaky!

All 4? That is crazy. You would think just one would be enough to cause such a huge leak that you wouldnt be able to build boost. I wonder if you had a backfire into your intake mani or something. Something drastic.

Yeah that definitely sounds like an intake backfire.

Just fwiw, any person who abuses my cars when I'm selling them (ie. steps on the brakes and sees how hard he can rev the engine until the clutch slips, or does burnouts) gets one warning, then I ask them to pull over and let me drive it home and the car is not for sale. I've had to decline 3 people, and it sucks, but it's better than fixing broken parts. WTF is up with these people, they wouldn't treat their own cars this way. :squint

Agreed 100%. What was wrong with the 1st and the second burn-out that he needed a third? I woulda left him on the side of the road. At least don't tell idiots like that about 2gnt.com... we already have enough of them around here!!

I can't believe YOU Tim, let the guy do burnouts in your car!!!! thats crazy. If he would revved it and drop the clutch I woulda back handed the fucker AND his Dad for shrissakes. :P
