94479, Next mod?

What would y'all recommend as my next mod? I'm staying NT, so don't suggest a turbo.

So far:
Short-ram Intake
Header
Hi-Flow Cat
Cat-back exhaust

I'm not really a fan of UD pulleys because for lack of a damper, and it messes with the electronics.

So what would y'all recommend next? Headwork?

Supercharger.

Haha, I actually thought about that since the JRSC kits are pretty cheap, but didn't see one on their website. I e-mailed them about it, but haven't gotten a response yet.

Now I'm sure all of you are going to bitch at me for wanting a supercharger over a turbo.

Bigger/bored throttle body and more aggresive cams. Don't know how steady your idle will be after that, though.

Why not a UDP? Harmonic dampener? I would search more on 2gnt. I thought the same at first but after reading up on it more at this board I learned it will not really cause things to become unbalanced. Only real disadvantage of a UDP is if you have a big stereo system in your car. Probably the biggest power difference it will make compared to you previous mods.

I've spent the past 1-2 hours searching 2gNT on UDP pulleys and found the same, so I think I'm going with the AF/X UDP. After that, would you recommend a clutch or flywheel first? I know the clutch is going to improve 60' times, but I've also read that flywheels accent a UDP really well.

If you haven't already gone through and replaced old stock parts ie: coil, wires, plugs, timing belt, fuel filter, etc... I'd go through and do that before you got into much more. None of that shit was ever replaced on my car, and now I'm paying the price for it.

Most of that is done so far...I still need to do the coil. I've already got the fuel filter I've just been too lazy to put the ho in lately. Wires and plugs are done.

The car was taken really good care of before I bought it (one-owner) so I haven't had any problems yet, though I have taken damn good care of her excluding the 3-4 races I do every Saturday night. She never sees over 3.5k rpms during daily driving...

Don't know many people that replace the clutch or flywheel for a 420a unless it's broke. Shouldn't have a problem with either unless your putting down mad horsepower. The kind of horsepower that only boost can supply.

Keep reading through posts and look what other mods people have in their sig. That should give you a good idea what some common good mods are. If your looking for daily fun you can do some suspension work.

Haha, mine is broke. Well, I shouldn't say broke, but it's getting there.

Suspension work....damn thanks, that reminds me. Does anyone make traction bars for our cars? I get mad wheel hop at the track and it fucks up my E/Ts hardcore.

By the way, what was your 1/8th mile E/T on your 16.15?

1/8th: 10.4

Wow, I need to practice my launching then, heh.

What is this EGR block-off mod? Does it add any power?

no offense dude, but i suggest ALOT of searching. every single question you have asked on here and many you have yet to ask has been answered a gazillion times. and IIRC there is even a walkthrough with stages on the main page. youll have enough here to read to last you for a year or more. i suggest you take advantage. we have almost 10 years of data compiled here, use it. :)

I can speak for both. I had the AFX 30% UDP on my Avenger, with a 2400 watt Audiobahn Class A/B amp (NOT a class D). No problems at all, not even lights dimming, and that was without a capacitor.

I had the Luk Clutch with the Fidanza aluminum flywheel. Definately makes the car rev much faster. They both free up drivetrain losses and put more power to the ground, even though you didn't gain any crank hp.

I would definatly recommend both, they complement each other well. Especially if you don't want to go turbo, because you won't make as much power n/a.

If you dont mind me askin why not turbo? it cant be cost because what youll spend on bolts ons is far more than a well put together turbo kit. also the difference in power and torque wil NEVER be the same, not even close. i use to hear that 3lbs of boost will put any 420a ahead of a fully modded n/a 420a, now after going turbo id have to say thats an understatement, id say 1 lb of boost will. But again its all in what you want, either way if you fully mod your car n/a it will be a little quicker but still slow as heck and not the same as it was stock, youll have idle issues, less miles to the gallon, and alot of time invested. i was in your shoes b4, i modded my car to the max and never got what i was looking for till i went turbo. but the largest gain i got while still n/a was the af/x udp, but believe me its nothing compared to 8lbs of boost!
just my 2cent

I'd love to go turbo, but I just don't think my engine is going to run as reliably as I'd like (this is my daily driver) with a turbo and 140k miles...(I know, it's all in the tune)

As mentioned above, check the main page for a "stages" walkthrough of mods.

I would suggest a bored TB and Ported/Polished intake manifold along with a UDP. You will notice the increase in those three and Throttle response will be improved.

put a kit on and keep the boost lower than 8 psi and you dont need to worry about a thing. make sure you have a walbro fuel pump and an fmu thats it. no matter what you do to your car with 140,000 miles its not gonna last to long without a rebuild n/a or turbo so dont waste your money on n/a mods instead save for a rebuild and turbo kit and put the kit on and run low boost. 5lbs will put you at about 200-210 hp wise. thats about 60 more than youll get with 5 grand in n/a mods. in the end your motor will need to be replaced or rebuilt no matter what route you go so take the less expensive one with the biggest advantage, as long as you keep low boost your car will be just as reliable it will just have a little more kick and require a little more maintance. im not pro on here yet but i believe most will agree with me. i just got my turbo wings last week and so far i wouldnt change it for a thing.
