hi all, recently, the check engine light come on and i was wondering how do i do a code check to see what is wrong with it? any help would be appreciated.

go to autozone or any parts store that has the equipment, it should be free.

what if i go to the dealer, will they do it for free? as i live in canada and there is only 1 mitsu dealer that is 20 miles away from me

no they charge about 70 to 80 dollars.
