93785, In/Out Pressure
Posted by RebelRiderR6, Oct-12-05 05:21 AM
I just went and had my car dynoed and my ecu kept fighting the changes in the fuel. At idle it would run lean and when they adjusted the fuel pressure it would go up but the the computer would cut it off. We did many runs and they decided to change the in/out pressure on my Apexi S-AFC2 to 5 and it was orginally set at 7. This seemed to work and didn't have the lean or rich code thrown at us. At WOT the Pressure reads +.10

Why would my ECU be fighting the changes and should we keep the settings at 5 in/out? Any suggestions would help.

Info:
Just had engine rebuilt and installed an AEM Fuel Regulator in replacement to the cartech unit. I am also using the missing link and have 360cc injectors.

this is really no help, but what are the dyno results?

I am at 262 whp and 248 tq at 15 pounds boost with my clutch slipping. When we replace my clutch they said I should be somewhere between 290-300whp.

The SAFC is a piggy back unit. It will do that. Asll it does is trick the ECU, but the ECU compensates when it gets pissed off. Every car is different with the in/out setting. Personally, mine is set at 9/8. Runs perfect at that setting.

I remember playing with mine so that with the engine not running the afc displayed as close to zero vacuum as I could get it. I think I went 5/5 also, but I don't recall. I also remember having the re-adjust several times because the ECU would try to correct it.

What happens if it see positive pressure?
I am watching it and sometimes at WOT it may be at +.24 but mostly it stays at +.1. And When I am driving without throttle it is at able -700

Typically, the ecu will cut fuel if it see's boost. It thinks something's wrong because there's not supposed to be pressure in the intake manifold.
