i have a 95 talon 2.0 it has 171000 miles on it it runs fine the gas pedal is really stiff and i dono why any body have any ideas

Well have you looked at the throttle cable or the pedal itself to see if anything is obstructing it at all?

Your cable has probably just built up grim on it.

Get a can of wd-40 and spray it down all the cable housing ends, and on the cable, and around the throttle body butterfly. If you have cruise control, spray it inside over the assembly.

If this doesn't make it good (probably will) then you will need to replace it.

There is a recall/TSB on this issue for certain model years involving the carpet causing the throttle to stick.

It may be worth a trip to Satan, but um... they suck.

So where do you take a Eagle Talon to get a recall done? Mitsubishi? Can't hurt taking your car in to a dealership and having any recalls done - it's free.

the recall only affects 98 model year vehicals.

I had this problem the other day. You might have to adjust the butterfly valve in the throttle body. Loosen the two screws on the butterfly, run the valve through it's full motion a few times and tighten back down.
