im new to this site so i wanted to tell you guys i have a block for sale from my 420a 95 eclipse. It has 102xxx miles on it, and ran great til the day it was swapped. If you're interested, let me know. I'm asking for around $280 OBO, and pick up. If you've got money to ship it, im willing to do so. I bought the car almost 2 years ago, since then ive added a blitz body kit molded in (not bumpers) GST spoiler, 13% tint and lots of other mods. I swapped the old motor out for a Howell Stroker w/ forged internals also. Yes, i do plan to boost it with a 20G. All the work done had been by me, with some help from local beasts. But since we are on this subject, i was hoping to get some input from you all about something im hoping to do. Before i boost, i want to see how much HP i can get out of my car all motor wise. Im gonna get it dynoed and hopefuly post it up on the forums for everyone to see. My goal is to hit 200 WHP.not motor, WHP. I havent updated my profile but heres what ive got so far:

Meghan racing headers and flex pipe

Everything in my engine bay has a base coat of flameproof high temp powdercoat, and then a top coat of Translucent red powder for shows.
Im hoping to get around 200whp, and i havent tuned the cam gears at all yet. I think a 60mm TB will help so im going to buy that soon. I really can't think of how to make my car any higher HP then what i've done so far or atleast as far as compression goes (8:6 for boost). so thats it, let me know what you guys think, and if youre looking for a 420a block to rebuild or use, PM me! And yes, that bitch rips like a bat out of hell.

Common now, 200 all motor whp isn't unreasonable for a built up 2.2.

EDIT: nevermind, I just saw the compression ratio

no way N/A with 8.6:1, though I am the one that says we should be able to hit 200whp N/A (10.5:1 and full stand alone). Keep searching, there's still more you can put into it. BTW, I'd stray away from the 60mm TB till you've turbo'd the engine, it is too big for N/a as has been proved time and time again.

Admirable goal. Not likely given your set up. Sure, you've got the displacement to make it a possibility, but you neutered yourself with that compression ratio. Sorry.

It will allow you to boil your tires and then lurch off the line, lumbering up into the powerband. Unless you turbocharge the engine - then it will allow you to boil the tires right into the powerband and take off like the Rocketman.

Yea im gonna go for the TB when i boost but its still something worth trying if im going to buy in anyways. if you want that block pm me, apparently you did see the offer anyways. Sure. If you have turbo goals, then build for turbo goals, but if you're wanting to push the limits naturally aspirated, you're making damn foolish choices. You have an engine designed for tall orders of boost, not scrappy, all motor dyno pulls.

driggs was more than correct in stating that you were making foolish decisions. what the hell is the point of building up your car to be an na beast if you wanna boost it right after? ill take some money if you are just throwing it away. most of the stuff that you install or have installed for an all motor setup will have to be taken out when you boost and even when you sell it, you wont get anywhere near what you payed for it. you need to calm your ass down and think a little more about what you say.
