I was wondering if you guys could help me decide on which crane ignition I should get. I have the 97 eclipse with the 420a engine here is a list of the mods i have currently done: Hahn Super 16g, Large Front Mount Intercooler, HKS SSQ Blow Off Valve, Turbo XS Manual Boost Controller, Missing Link, 450cc RX Injectors, Vortech SFMU, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, Apexi SAFC II, Apex i Turbo Timer, Autometer: Boost, Oil Pressure, EGT gauges, 55mm Throttle Body, Crower Stage 2 Cams, Aem Cam gears, JE Forged 8:8.1 Pistons, Eagle H-beam rods, Melling Oil Pump, ARP Headstuds, Also I currently have the crower stage 2 cams should i switch to the crane 14's? I also want to get the afx race computer.

I use the Crane 6000-6500.Its called the Crane HI-6DI2. You need the one specifically for a distributorless ignition like we have. You can also use the slightly more expensive model, the 6000-6243. I paid 320.00 at Summitracing.com for mine(6500)
Also, I would not run the AFX computer on a turbo application, as this ECU will advance your timing to an extent. This can be good at lower boost levels(up to around 12 psi), but when trying to run more boost than that, detonation may set in, esp if you are only going to run pump gas. If you plan on running race gas, then the AFX will be fine.

Couldnt i use the ignition to retard the timing? I want the 8100 redline, and the computer not reading the downstream 02. Sorry I am new to the ignition aspect of the car. I am currently running 15 pounds of boost, I want to be at 20psi. I am using 93 Octane.

Yes, you can use it to retard timing, but it may only make for higher EGT's at that boost level. You really dont want to run much less than 17 degrees of timing under boost. If you need to do that to keep away from detonation, then you either need to run higher octane fuel, or lower your boost pressure. Retarding timing with boost works, but only to a certain extent. You dont really want to run less timing than what it *should* be at. If you want to run 20 psi, i'd really look into running some 100 unleaded mixed with some 93 octane. That will work just fine with stock timing advance. Other means such as water injection with 93 octane may help to run more boost also.
